Whatever it takes!!!
The selectors use the same algorithm as they do when picking our 4th and 5th seamers for away tours..
I don't think this series serves much purpose beyond giving match practise for the WC probables from the teams pov.Parthiv Patel is the replacement for Sachin?
Weird decision. It could really only mean that they are picking Patel in WC squad as backup keeper and want to give him match practice.
Otherwise Mukund and Dhawan were obvious choices.
I think all major series are doing that.I don't think this series serves much purpose beyond giving match practise for the WC probables from the teams pov.
Graeme Smith and Corrie van Zyl are so excited of having an attacking spinner that the plan isn’t to play him.

Probably don't want opposition teams to know what he bowls like.btw why are they not playing imran tahir???
its not end of the week its tommorrowIs there a deadline to announce WC 15s before the end of this week? Seems strange that South Africa are announcing their 15 tomorrow and Australia have already selected their 15, that despite both sides having plenty of ODIs left before the end of the month and opportunities to try players out. Be pretty ridiculous that Tahir will go or won’t go without getting a game (same goes for Faf).

He isn’t a mystery spinner like Mendis was and considering his exploits in England there is probably YouTube vids on him. Most of the England team have already faced or played with Tahir before and the Indians are well versed in combating a guy who has a googly, flipper et cetera.Probably don't want opposition teams to know what he bowls like.
Today is the last day to announce the squads since it says "before the 19th"its not end of the week its tommorrow
"All 14 teams participating in the tournament have to announce their preliminary line-ups by December 19 2010, and zero in on the final fifteen before January 19 2011. "
That explains it then.its not end of the week its tommorrow

Cape Town a win the toss, bat first and almost guaranteed win ground as well?Tomorrow's game should be easier viewing, just need to watch the toss and then that's that.
No test side has won a match against another test side fielding first in over ten years.Cape Town a win the toss, bat first and almost guaranteed win ground as well?
