Hopefully Bosman has now come full circle, made his debut for South Africa in the 20/20 and this performance combined with the rest of his horror show series should end his career. AB to open come Sunday, Prince to slide in at five.
AB de Villiers isn't very good at opening the batting and Prince isn't an ODI player to be honest. They should bring back Dipennaar and leave AB at 5.

Fine.

Karthik and Mongia didn't choke as usual, Sehwag's fat ass didn't jiggle as much and Pathan's pace was up well into the mid 120's.

See ya in two days.

Congrats, India. Got to see the game because my ticket was still valid as the other one rained out. The atmosphere was great. India bowled very well. But don't get too ****y, guys. You played against our "C" team, remember?

Sehwag, Tendulkar, Laxman, Kaif, Mongia, Dhoni, Pathan, Zaheer, Sreesanth, Bhajji, Kumble for the final ODI.

Raina is getting dropped for sure, but Kaif and Mongia are on the edge and deserve a few games.
Karthik did well in the Twenty20, so I wouldn't be surprised if he made the cut over Kaif.

Whatever it takes!!!
I wouldn't play Bhajji, to be honest. A four man attack with Zaheer, Sreesanth and Pathan (who seems to be be finding some bowling form finally) and Kumble. Sachin, Sehwag and Dinesh Mongia can bowl the rest of the overs. Kaarthick, Kaif, Dhoni, Laxman can make up the rest of the side. WE will have decent batting depth and reasonable variety in the bowling. We should give up the idea of playing with 5 bowlers for the recent future, AFAIC.

And I think it is a reflection of how badly we are playing and how well RSA are playing that beating them when they were playing a second string bowling attack is the fact that we are all regarding this win as a good one for India.

True. BUT, the main thing is that some of the players will gain some confidence! Hopefully, india win Tomm as well. That should sed a clear message to SA, that india are real contenders for the test series. Kartick played well, but i wouldn't rate him, just yet!

He seems like the sort of player who can get about 20-25 and then get out! That really isn't what india need! But, i would definitely pick him ahead of kaif, tomm!

Just don't understand why SA rested Pollock, Kallis, Boucher Ntini, Nel...if you'vr got a team down, KICK THEM! OK, so its only 20/20 (and they did their best to lose it)but india have a win on the board now and it must boost their conficence for the rest of the tour.

Well..i dont agree with the fact that kallis is a big bet for 20/20 cricket..Wat Sa were trying to do was they wanted to rest their main bowlers as the most important test series coming up and there is no point in risking these players just for a 20-20 match..Hopefully this win will boost india's confidence to show atleast a fight in the remaining matches..Itz been all SA this series..Raina should be dropped as he cant find runs at the moment..Itz nice to see them bring back Gambhir,i think he has got potential and should have been selected for the oneday series here instead of jaffer..

The worrying thing is that if Twenty20 is going to be taken seriously as an entity, why are boards not putting out their best XI?

That's the same Q im asking! In all honesty, i like 20/20 cricket....its exciting to watch, and short ( but not too short)! I would like to see the boards put out a good team for every match. In all honesty, i was quite happy india disn't mess about with their team....however, i bet if they could, they would have!

Can't wait till the WC for 20/20.....guaranteed that it'll be more exciting that the actual WC!!

Leave him alone! No-one, including Dravid, really, is performing for indiaat the moment to their fullest potential. We can't drop 'em all can we?

Not sure how you can make such a guarantee...
Because the sole 20/20 ever played by India was exciting, therefore it follows that every single 20/20 that is played from here on out will be at least as exciting.

name one 20/20 international game that has not been exciting (apart frm Ban v Zim)! That should answer your Q!
Numbers 1, 4 and 8 for starters...

2 wasn't particularly exciting, although it was enjoyable.

Strange coincidence, India win a 20/20 and suddenly the game takes on more importance than a fifty over game. Would it be wrong to suggest if India had lost yesterday such comments would not be forthcoming?

how so? one day form and test match form are so different...and squeaking through in this 20/20 rubbish doesn't even make us contenders for the next regular odi unless s.a rest a lot of their main bowlers again or become too complacent or something...

No basically, one of the main reasons for our losses was due to the fact that we were very unaware of the conditions and needed more practice matches. Winning the remaining ODI shows that these matches have geared our players for a better showing in the Test series because now we know what to expect.

Anil.....u seem to be forgetting that cricket is a confidence game. India suddenly had a lot more energy after they won yesturday! That should help them in their next game!

Also, i think a few of u are mistaking me for saying that i don't like ODIs!

I'm not saying that.....i love all forms of cricket and agree that tests>ODIs>20/20! But, i think its important to support ur team in all forms of the game.

U seem to be neglecting 20/20.....its cricket as well u know! I think u ahve some mental blog that prevents u from giving 20/20 any respect! You should stop moaning about 20/20 and just watch the bloody game!!
