Also, I assume Virender Sehwag will be made captain for the next two ODI's seeing as how Rahul Dravid has injured his finger? Or will they give it to somebody who might actually pull his weight like Tendulkar?

Well that's an excuse to keep him in the team then, do you think VVS Laxman will get a go in the nextb ODI? Or is it just a replacement so that the squad isn't short of numbers?

Jumbo should be captain, or anyone else in the side.. I'm really not the biggest fan of Sehwag being captain.

Ganguly's fit and in form

Dalmiya is an idiot. So many other players are in better form, so why not bring them in. He's just saying this so more idiot Indian fans like him.

Sehwag shouldn't be the vice-captain in the first place. He hasn't secured his place in the side and he sets a poor example by being sloppy and sluggish in the field. Yuvraj should've been the vice-captain but he's injured. Apart from that, the only choice is Tendulkar and they obviously want someone for the future. Kaif was the best choice at one point but he isn't a regular in the side either. The only other regulars are Harbhajan (who picks a fight every other match), Pathan (who already has too much to worry about), Dhoni (who could be a good leader but is new to the side) and Munaf (needs to work on his bowling and he's from a village). In short, we don't have any better options right now than Sehwag.

Please don't bring up Agarkar now.

Dhonis played enough to be vice captain I believe. No one else would make a better vice captain than him.

Right, but could he step up in the place of Dravid in the current situation? Kapil Dev and you might think so, but I'm not so sure - he has no captaincy experience.

Laxman should play as long as he arrives in South Africa on time. One report said that he would arrive a few hours before the match, which is ridiculous IMO.
I'm not sure if they would put him out in the field straightaway after arrival. If he doesn't play, I'm not adverse to playing Kaif, Mongia AND Raina in the middle-order.
We don't have anything to lose so we might as well throw them out in the water and let them decide who stays in the team and who gets dropped.
For Raina, it will be the last chance ... unless he does well.

He's following in Inzi's footsteps...
More like Inzi is folowing Sachin's footsteps. Inzi has only been batting poorly very recently, and is coming off his best season of batting production wise. Sachin has been pretty poor for a while now. It wouldn't be too harsh to say that he's only being selected on reputation right now, of which he rightfully has quite a bit to fall back on. Don't know about a "No Loyalty XI" though.

I'm assuming you're talking about tests, because Sachin has been alright in ODIs apart from the latest patch of bad run.

OMG! What is wrong with you people!? Sachin hasn't been out of form for a while because in that while, he has played far less matches than he would because of injury. In ODI, his form was fine, he dropped in tests without scoring runs in the last 11 innings. He was getting runs before the last 11 innings. Seriously before you say Sachin has been out of form for a while, go search his figures.

How many times have you said this in the last two weeks or so? Don't need an exact count, you can tell me how many dozen.
Before the tour began, I said that the tour would be the last chance for Raina.
Every other time I've said this has been a reiteration of the same point - he needs to fire in one of these matches or he'll be dropped.

And for all those who say Sachin is in poor form. He is avg 37 since he came back from injury in ODIs. What kind of poor form is that?

Again, on the basis of what?
he's in form 100 and a 43 on a tough pitch and he has the ability to lead the team when dravids absent and he has more experience that laxman and could be involved in their future plans...there's already 1 dravid, laxman is just another slow bastmen...plus im just a fan on ganguly so my opinion on this is bit bias...

Bias or no bias, you must know...there have been players who have been in better form than Ganguly. If one 100 is enough to get you into the team, then about 10 other players should be in the squad too.
