It's looking uncomfortably like a repeat of the last test. Perhaps there will be some turn for Ashwin this time.
I have been looking at the key tests in 2007,2011 and 2018 and they were all in Cape Town. If SS wins again here , it will legitimately be one of the great fortresses of test cricket.

It's been kinda funny watching the studio coverage on hotstar where since day one of the first test they've been talking constantly what a historic series win this would be. The talk has gone quieter and quieter. Some serious blueballs.
There must be quite the library of overjingoistic promo packages that had to be pulled out because the team got dumped ass-first ahead of schedule.

With hindsight I'd probably have gone with Vihari over Ashwin tbf. His bowling has been surplus to requirements and he hasn't scored enough runs.

But would be a ballsy move to make that selection at the toss pre game.

Star sports has a history of hyping too much.

So everyone sucks?
Kind of yeah haha Theb owling has been atrocious from some of the saffers. No idea what Olivier is doing here, Rabada towards the end of that passage of play was bowling 120kph outside off....Jansen looked determined so kudos to him.

It's like seeing school grade cricket.

30 in 60 balls for these two. Very solid and scoring at a healthy pace. Very good at rotating the strike, heavy roller + lack of height from our quicks makes this pitch seem pretty decent to bat on.

:(

Very little for Ashwin so far. I think India may fall painfully short yet again. You also have to credit SS for showing a lot of fight not least after losing 3 tosses.
