Temba Bavuma continued selection is hard to justify when you look at stats of players he's competing with with. I do wonder if there's a clear guideline from CSA that a black batsmen has to be in the side at all times. Petersen and Hamza should be in the side at his expense.
He is class but this year so far he has done nothing not on form , what now warrants his selection granted he 2 to 3 years of big runs, but did nothing against india A

themba gets important runs at 5 or 6 and seems to look solid but at average of only 32 and 1 100 its maybe time if they have to have a african batsmen than De Zorzi gets picked.

Easwaran made a hundred and a 50 in the A series recently. Idk why we picked a 31 year old to replace rohit.
I hope this isn't used as an excuse to pick Rahane again. And Shreyas shouldn't be picked either because bounce. And we don't know if Rahul is fully fit yet either.

I am certain that there are more injuries they haven't disclosed yet or that quite a few more players will get injured soon and by the 3rd test, it may be a completely different side to one we all initially expected.
It happened in Australia and it was going to happen in the 5th test in England where there were reports that a number of players were expected to be ruled out. It's also been happening in the home test series in the last couple of years.
So it has become a pattern, this lot keeps falling like flies to injuries. Training seems to be too intense ...or they are exerting too much. They need to hire some professional physios and trainers from overseas and not push the players beyond their 'own' limits rather than getting them to meet some arbitrary standards set. Something is seriously wrong with the Indian training/fitness regime!
