This is heartbreaking. Didn't think we'd be so meek with the bat. Pandya's 93 is the only thing that has kept the match going.
Come on. India have played quite well here and came back into the match and were on top for a considerable time. Add that with the lack of preparation, warm up games and first test match blues, this is not that bad a loss. Expect a better batting show in 2nd test

a top score of 28 across both innings for the entire top six is pretty unacceptable however you cut it

Indian batting is not good enough for these conditions; plain and simple.

At least their bowling has finally shown some promise at last and reckon they will be threat in English and possibly NZ conditions in future as well.

Yeah well if the top 6 had fired, they would have won this game. But for a loss, there's still plenty of positives.
Steyn getting injured is also a blow for SA. They aren't quite as dangerous without him and their batsmen haven't exactly performed too well either. I think SA will win this series, but I don't think it will be that easy.

I do think the biggest worry for India would be the fact they got the best of the bowling conditions, both the first morning and this morning. And the best of the batting, when the pitch calmed down and flattened in the afternoons. No way India should have lost 3 wickets on that first day, all to pretty terrible shots. Yes the ball has done something throughout the match but would India have got to 200 if Faf had put them in to bat? Not so sure.

Anyway this Test is not over yet....

Think Australia might have done well, Marsh, Warner and Smith would have done okish here. Heck even Khawaja would have been better than Rohit. Dunno if they would have chased it down, but would be fascinating to watch.
Australia have never really been great at chasing IMO.

SA are being a bit too casual now. Don't let them get close ffs. Finish them off quickly. Just need one wicket. Only the two tailenders left.

India are not winning this even if these two score another 50. The only chance we have is if we get within 20 runs to win with 2 wickets in hand.
