***Official*** India in South Africa 2013/14

I feel irritated but pleased. Weird emotions but I will take that result to be honest. Main thing is, I enjoyed the cricket on show from both teams.

Thought the surface was one where movement in towards the stumps using the cracks is what was required on that pitch and all of India's seamers do that. For South Africa Philander can move it in off the seam but bowls away swing and along with Steyn and Kallis away swingers could be dealt with if you left well. Losing Morne Morkel was a big loss for us, our only natural in seamer.

* KYLE ABBOTT been added to the test squad

Exactly the feeling I have. Cannot understand how we didn't win after getting Kallis with that dodgy decision. Considering the high Indian fans were on after day 3, it is a big let down. But I keep reminding myself that SA needed 56 to win with 6 wickets in hand and we somehow hung on.

I think the tracked eased out once the green of the first two days had gone and our bowlers ultimately didn't have the ability to get it done.

On Kallis, he did get a shocker, but to be fair, there was a very close shout that Shami had against FAF just before lunch that Hawk Eye showed hitting.

Oh come on, cut them some slack FFS. Win was within reach - but given it was just injured Morkel and Tahir to come, one wicket might easily have done it for SA. Especially since the pitch did still behave oddly despite how well Faf and AB played till then. I wouldn't sure as hell trust Tahir to survive for a draw if something goes wrong.

Blunder runout by Faf, but still all things considered forgivable - well played Lad. Classic test etc. obviously.

That tour has been on the schedule for a long time. The third test in SA was cancelled to incorporate the West Indies series and there's only 1 reason for that.
the third test was scheduled after the first two.

Bcci scheduled the windies series and moved the new zealand tour forward just to piss CSA off.

gosh even worse. the First test was supposed to only be played on the 26th december. second on the 2nd january and the third test on the 14th january.

India then scheduled the first nz test on the 19th. same day the third test vs south africa was supposed to end.

hahaha

I mean the third test was scheduled as the new years test. so the windies series has no bearing on it not being played.
The original tour itinerary started on Nov 18 which was perfectly feasible until the BCCI organized the West Indies series. There would have been more than 2 months - ample time to fit in 3 tests.

As I said, in the original shcedule the tour was supposed to end january 19.

the mistake CSA made was to schedule 7 ODI'S which was absolutely ridiculous.

Then india went and scheduled the NZ tour from the 19th, also with warm ups.

So Bcci scheduled 2 extra tours to give CSA and actually everyone of us the finger... except if your jamaican or a kiwi.

The Jan 19 date was not relevant. The key date was Nov 18 - if the tour had been allowed to start on Nov 18 as scheduled, there was more than enough time to play 3 tests. If for whatever reason, India wanted to return home earlier than Jan 19, they could have cut out a couple of ODIs or T20s and I imagine CSA would have proposed that. The crunch arose when the BCCI pushed the tour start back to December.

What a test match. Both sets of supporters will hopefully het their heart rates back to normal some time today.

Kudos to ABdV. I've said he's a downhill skier but he sure as hell wasn't here. Tasting it here.

SA, just a stand out side right now. They lost one of their best bowlers, their best bowler bowled badly and they have a horrendous leg spinner in the side, bit they still went within a whisker. As for India, great performances by a few of their younger players really bodes well for the future too.

Just an epic test match. What a sport when it twists and turns like this.

Amen to all this. Fabulous match - feel privileged to have watched at least some of it.

Smith and Domingo must be sacked. I don't care about their past records etc, I'm embarrassed to be a fan of a team that they're in charge of after today. Spineless idiots.

Such a good test match, btw, completely wrecked by Smith/Domingo in about 5 minutes.

I am embarrassed that there are supporters like you. As a South African I am utterly embarrassed how our supporters moan and complain at every given chance - pathetic.
