Although most Indian fans are feeling sad about the loss, but then dont be disheartened, wins and losses are a part of the game and one loss isnt the end of the world. Lets start thinking of the ODIs and the upcoming series against England and West Indies.

Also, well played to Pakistan, they just outbatted and outbowled us out of the game, wont say outfielded, for that is the only department where India were better. After the first half of the 1st session, Pakistan, never allowed India back into the game and the only chance India had was to dismiss Pakistan cheaply in the 2nd innings, but that never happened.

Also, the players who should be congratulated the most are Kamran Akmal and Abdur Razzaq for their excellent innings under pressure and Razzaq, for his accurate bowling.

Also, I apologise once again if my optimism earlier out here caused any problems.

brilliant showing by pak. killed all the talk that they were afraid to make a greentop! outstanding stuff...
Yeah, infact, as waqar was saying in straight drive that Pakistan should actually be producing such pitches, it suits their batsman and bowlers.

Yes the england india series will be a wonderful series to watch i am really waiting for it ... I think India will win it though because of their spin attack and i can`t see spinners like giles or udal troubling the Indian batsmen ... whereas kumble and harbhajan will certainly be a force to reckon with on Indian Pitches....

When Gangully got out i felt very bad. He played very well and was unfortunate to get a very good delivery first up... now there is one question that is this the end of the great man's career ???? .. i like him and hope he comes back but now i think that is very unlikely .. i am really feeling bad for him ..When he was looking to the umpire and waiting for a decision i could see in his eyes that he had really really worked hard .... :( :(

I can see a few changes in the Pak team for the test side, the openers are likely to be Farhat and Butt as shoaib malik wont find a place for some time i guess, Faisal will have to leave for Inzamam but the bowling department seems good ATM with Shoaib, Asif, Razzaq and kaneria. The good thing about this is, Pakistan actually has a back-up for each department which just shows the strength in their current team.

Well i always thought Ganguly was a good player, it would be really sad if they drop him for the series against England. The way he played today and in the first innings makes me believe that he still has alot to give to the Indian team, if he concentrates, he can still be very useful.

I have no doubt in my mind that Ganguly will make the squad for the England tour. Whether he'll get a permanent place in the XI is what is up in the air. You can't, just simply can't drop Yuvraj. He's batted well this series and is a superb fielder. Laxman too, whilst not been in blistering form, has scored a crucial ton against SL and a good 90 against Pakistan. Dropping Dravid, Sachin or Sehwag is obviously out of the question, which just leaves Sourav left. India need an opener, Dravid can't play like this on tough pitches. Well he can, but he shouldn't have to because its detrimental to the Indian team.

Right, its a tricky situation. A ganguly returned to as he was would be a great addition to the Indian team. But the question is how to accomodate him. I suppose on Indian tracks Dravid wouldn't be too averse to open against England? Might as well make sure which side of the equation Ganguly lies in.

What about Indian pitches? I don't like the idea of Dravid opening permanently either, but just until we know for sure if Ganguly should be retained in the squad at all.

That is true. I'd rather see the issue resolved immediately however, particularly after a series loss, even it is only one test. India should have stamped Pakistan out of the game at 6-36, and even with Pakistan scoring 245 India should have seen off the new ball and tried to get a strong lead of 150+. Instead their 4 best batsman perished by the end of day 1.

Easier said than done.

England too had Pakistan on the run on more than a couple of occasions recently - Bob Woolmer's got some fierce commitment and ne'er say die instilled into that side now.

What a game! I still can't believe the incredible turnaround Pak had. To go from 0/3 to 39/6 to the massive victory! Oh to be in Karachi today and soak up the atmosphere (specially in National Stadium). Akmal was a deserving MOM. His match savings innings won't be forgotten soon. I must also give props to Yuvi. It took a lot of character and class to score that century, with wickets falling all around him. By the way, shouldn't all the media pundits who critized Woolmer/Inzi for having a "defensive" approach with the Razzak selection apologize to them? Can't wait for the ODI series. I bet India come back with a vengeance to make it a good contest.
And lastly, to my two favorite trolls of CricketWeb, Nehrafan and Sheerindiaspeed: How about them apples???? Bet we don't hear from these two today!

Green Top. A bowler short and a hattrick against you in the first over. Brilliant the way Pakistan played tough and intense cricket.

Tendulkar looks very old to me. I have seen him bat with confidence and resolve, however this time he is looking tired and not coming up for the challenge anymore.

Looking forward to an exciting ODI series.

What is this about Chappell and/or the Indian camp complaining/querying about Akhtar's action? Is this all rubbish, since I've read something about them denying this, or is it true?

Seems a weird time to bring it up.

Lol. I'm an Indian fan but I just feel like mocking them anyway, I can only imagine what some of the Pakistani fans on this forum would like to say to them. :p

I don't understand how in all 4 innings the teams scored at more than or close to 4 an over. I have no idea how Pakistan managed that after being 6-36, and how India did it at 4-74. Pakistan's second innings is easier to understand since they had a strong platform and the pitch flattened out. What's more baffling was India's 2nd innings. I mean almost all players were going at a SR of 75-80+ There was no real attempt to pull a SA effort at the WACA last year and dig in. No one attempted a Rudolph knock. Yes I'm aware there was almost 2 more sessions needed to bat out than SA had to, but still, it was just weird. I can't really understand how a match where wickets fell at regular intervals consisted of such a fast run rate.
