- Name ONE bowler among India's top ive who can take at least 10 wickets, let alone 20.
- But will they WIN this match? That will show how useful the inclusion of six specialist batsmen has been.
- JP Yadav can get as many wickets as any other seamer in this Indian side.
- You don't seem to like that name much, so let's just call this man Munaf Patel, shall we?
- They played five bowlers in that last Test, but those cowards in charge reverted to 6-4-1 for this match. Predictably, it backfired.
not in the form he is in currently.danish said:Anil Kumble?
I think Arjun meant about pacers, not spinners.danish said:Anil Kumble?
Do you seriously believe that Arjun's JP Yadav can take more wickets than Any of the current bowlers.TIF said:I think Arjun meant about pacers, not spinners.
Yes, JP Yadav will not be effective because he bowls 120 kmph and lacks Pathan's swing and curl. Munaf Patel has pace though, and he's been doing very well at the domestic level as well. Sometimes domestic performers are found wanting because of a lack of pace at the international level (Zaheer), but we all know that Munaf has that extra pace.Sanz said:Uhhh, stop preaching and thinking that only you think of team India and everyone else doesn't. JP Yadav is crap, so is Munaf. Who are you calling Coward ?? Rahul Dravid or Greg Chappell or Sharad Pawar ?
Kiran More is a coward. I'm not talking about Ganguly's inclusion or anything, that's justifiable. It's all about things like Agarkar's repeated inclusion, Kartik's inclusion in the one-day squad and the lack of a pace bowler (yes, there are a few in India now) in the national squad.Sanz said:Uhhh, stop preaching and thinking that only you think of team India and everyone else doesn't. You know what we have been hearing about Munaf Patel for almost 3-4 years now. If he had any potential he would have been backed by Senior players in the team. There has to be something wrong. I dont see any player talk about his bowling ever. If trundlers like RP Singh, raina, Santh etc can be tried , why not Munaf ? There is something which you and I dont know and selectors/cricketers know.adharcric said:Yes, JP Yadav will not be effective because he bowls 120 kmph and lacks Pathan's swing and curl. Considering he top scored in the first innings, isn't it a bit premature to write him off?neutralguy said:It would be interesting to see what tendulkar will make in the second innings. This will also mark the end of ganguly posssibly as a test player too. What a sad end to a great former captain of india.
If you had been following domestic cricket over the past few years, you wouldn't say this. A few years ago, Munaf Patel came onto the scene as a young tearaway pace prospect. He was with Mumbai but had serious injury concerns for some time and didn't perform at all. Then this season he moved onto Maharashtra and was tremendous with the ball (and the bat to a degree as well). That's why he hasn't been mentioned yet as a realistic contender, it's only this season that he's excelled. Maybe he needs to have a shot in the Challenger Series to catch Chappell's and the selectors' attention, just like VR Singh did this past year. Munaf is definitely a bright prospect.Sanz said:You know what we have been hearing about Munaf Patel for almost 3-4 years now. Raina is not a trundler ... he's a flashy middle-order batsman, the best fielder in India (yes, as good as Kaif and Yuvraj) and a decent part-time bowler. RP Singh has done quite well already in his short career, already picked up a MOM in an India-Paksitan test match. You can call him a trundler, but I say he's already established himself as a regular in the bowling rotation, and a deserving one unlike Agarkar. Sreesanth is one of the few fast-medium bowlers in India (Munaf and VRV are some others, Zaheer used to be, Nehra can be). Don't go about insulting everyone for no reason now.Sanz said:If trundlers like RP Singh, raina, Santh etc can be tried
Not exactly top-scored, but he did look in fine touch. Ganguly should definitely remain in the test side regardless of what he does in this chase, we'll see if he deserves a place in the playing XI.marc71178 said:Considering he top scored in the first innings, isn't it a bit premature to write him off?
With Kamran Akmal to come, it could quiet easily be 8.marc71178 said:Has the top 7 in a Test innings ever all got half centuries before?
If I believe all the hype about Munaf's pace then yes RP Singh, Santh and Raina(the bowler) are indeed trundlers as far as pace is concerned. I dont understand how RP Singh has established himself after only one and half test. I still think Balaji is a better bowler than him, Pathan, AA and Zaheer. Nehra is crap in tests. Santh is going to disappear soon.adharcric said:Raina is not a trundler ... he's a flashy middle-order batsman, the best fielder in India (yes, as good as Kaif and Yuvraj) and a decent part-time bowler.
