Do these erstwhile heroes know the meaning of yorkers?

Sami can be excused because he is eminently useless, hanging on like the worthless junk you are just too lazy to discard. Arafat came into a Pakistani side led by the likes of Mohammad Sami so you can imagine the role-models he had - no wonder he loves chucking pies on the leg-stump with the fine leg up in the circle.

But Razzaq? He bowled with the likes of Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib and Saqlain; bowled well too. He has gone from being one of the best all-round prospects in the world to a punching bag for the batsmen, to deface at whim.

This Pakistani team might have more unity, respect, discipline and whatever then the 90's unit, but as far as talent goes, they aren't a patch on them.

Definitely not the ones that have been dished up in this series, in particular the bowlers. Asif is the obvious exception. I've been saying for a long time that Razzaq is not even a quarter of the bowler he was in the 90s. Not even close. He's cannon fodder, a frequent no-baller and the only good thing he can do with the ball is get Tendulkar out for some odd reason. Then again, that alone is good enough to be put in the side (with his batting of course). Too bad for him Sachin didn't play today :p

Rana has been woefully out of form, its almost like he's pulled a mini-Gillespie and lost all his talent suddenly. The rest aren't worth a mention. Clearly Akhtar, whether people like it or not, has a lot to do with whether Pakistan will challenge Australia in the WC. Pakistan may have won 4-2 last year against India in the ODIs with Akhtar, and they even drew the test series which was magnificent, but this Indian ODI team is different. Shoaib is necessary, and so is a fit Afridi.

I'm also fairly annoyed that Kaif is going to come in late in the innings once again. I can just tell that he's going to come in with the asking rate at 7-7.5 and 6-7 overs in hand. That is not his forte (sp?). Dravid is the much better player no doubt, but I kind of wish Kaif opened and Dravid came in at 3 and Yuvraj at 4 (despite him playing beautifully). Or even have Kaif in at 3 and Yuvraj at 4. Oh well we'll see what happens here with Dhoni in at 4, Kaif should come in at 5 one would feel.
I had an odd feeling whilst saying this that its not entirely unlikely that he may not get a bat this game, since Dhoni and Yuvraj seem to be taking India home almost every match. :p

Has anyone noticed Dhoni's patented "I'm going to try and catch up to my partner's score now even though he's batted 15-20 overs more than me" he always does at the end of an innings whilst chasing. He almost did it to Yuvraj in the 3rd ODI, and he tried again today. :p

Awesome display by Indian team in the odi series, hands down they played better cricket than the Pakistani team and will leave Pakistan team asking them lot of questions. From a Pakistani fan, hearty congras to Indian fans. Enjoy it guys, you and your team deserve it.

And I need to have some :wine:

Well done India..again. Yuvi has been exceptional throughout and batted beautifully. He really has matured as a batter and today he looked confident and cool. I cant praise him enough, he was brilliant.

Dhoni finished it as only he can.

Utterly pathetic performance from Pak in the field.

I really wish the test series would consist of more than 3 test matches. I would like to see a five-test series against pakistan every two years.

I am not taking anything away from the Pakistan win, they won handily and deserved the series 1-0, but the situation really became a best-of-one after the state of pitches in the first two.

I think India could have made the matches interesting, and it would have been fun to see! Pakistan might still have won the series, but we missed out on a lot of excitement by having a small series like that.

I've been quietly observing the series for a while now, and as an Indian supporter I must say I'm very pleased at the outcome. The most important aspect for me in this series has been the emergence of RP Singh and Mahendra Dhoni, along with the coming of age of Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj has always had the talent, but not the brain. But he's proven a lot of his critics wrong with his batting under pressure. He's delivered consistently for his country and deserves to be man of the series. A lot of positives coming out of this series for India ahead of the England series.

I must say thank you to all the Pakistani supporters on CW. Your sportsmanship and grace in defeat is much appreciated by majority of the Indian supporters here. You guys are great representatives as fans of your country.

WOW. This was one good spanking by India.

Beleg, man calm down i know Pakistan was pethatic in this series but calling them talentless is going a bit too far. This is the team that hasnt lost a test series for over a year and they have been doing consistently well in the ODI's for a long time.

Sami is useless that i agree but give time to guys like Arafat and Asif they are young and will develop with time.

Congratulations India fans! A well deserved victory, Pakistan completely outplayed. Yuvraj is AWESOME and Dhoni is just something else. Good news for England, Yuvraj could be out for the series.:@
