Well, I was right about the result.

(apart from the fact that India won).

It was an exceptional series, and both teams and both sets of supporters are to be commended for making it so.

Congrats to all the players the best team one in the end!

Lets see if we can turn it on in the tests!!

Anyway, was I the only one to notice that most of the batsmen got out, today due to some really bad shots rather than exceptional bowling?

Not really. I thought Pakistan were done in by some pretty good swing bowling from Pathan.

The Indians, surprisingly were more threatening and disciplined with the ball than the Pakistanis in this game.

Irfan Pathan looks to be a huge threat for Pakistan -- none of the batsmen seem to be playing him with a great deal of comfort.

Congratulations to the indian team on winning the series in an emphatic way after they were 1-2 down.

I was just watching Indian News and they said that because of Ganguly's injury he will not play the first test...

I haven't seen it, but I would be shocked if he isn't there.

If not, Yuvraj will come in I assume?

I am also guessing Yuvraj will come in but Ganguly said him self that he will miss that match

Think Shoaib may have helped seal Pakistan's fate with some shocking cricket.

Failing to ground your bat when you are running a quick single is a schoolboy error.
Reminds of Worcestershire's run glutton Graeme Hick in Pakistan in one of the ODIs in 2000.

Even deep down you know that the Indian bowling lineup is mediocre at best. Young and promising, but currently very mediocre.

That is a misconcept, a mediocre bowling lineup wouldn't have match Australia in Australia.Fact is people just don't want to realise that Indian bowling is has shown "vast improvement" as compared to what it was in older days of Prasad and Co.

Its not good to continually annoy other members by bragging about how good India is.If India were that good we would've won all 20 finals we have played in, in the last 4 years. We have only won about 5 out of 20 finals, we're a good young side, but we aren't what you make us out to be.Please, one has to earn respect on these boards.

I'm a bit confused over here, are you mistaking me for being Saurav Ganguly?? For i never ever claimed Indian team to be the best in the world (Ganguly did that though and he even criticized OD ranking). I said and still maintain that Indian team(though still way behind Aus) is very good and is capable of matching nearly all side in the world.

Mohammad Sami is inconsistent, but he is also a very promising young fast bowler, he is in very much the same age group and talent bracket as an Irfan Pathan or a Lakshmipathy Balaji.
How so?? You says that whatever i says is far from reality. All along i have maintained that Sami and Shabbir are crap.If someone has objection to my statement then just go though the 5 ODI series averages of those two, if that is not enough then just read what Inzi has to say about those two.

'ajaagarkaraja' makes some really valid points.Im sure thats what you want in the long run,

Because thats what all CW members expect and want from you as well.
Nearly all the point i made were valid. I came harsh on three Pak players 1,Sami 2 Shabbir 3 Afridi. And all these so called mighty players turn out to be crap.

C'mon yaar how can you find Sami so poor while the Indian bowling so good. You were the one who said that Pak batting is poor but they have still ended up scoring around 300 every match .

Sami has been a nightmare for Pak since some time now.I'm not trying to embaress Pak fans here but fact is that Pak has lost a lot of onedays because of poor performance from guys like Sami.If a pacer gives runs in excess of 70 + in every second Onedayer then something is seriously wrong with him.

As for Pak batting, i wasn't the only one who said that Pak batting is poor, many pundits are very vocal about it & the fact is that it has been their weakness since some time.Pak batsmen did well on batting wickets in the first 4 Onedayers but in the last onedayer the batiing once gain flopped.

However i must say that Pak have found a good batsman in Hameed, and Umar is another good find, unfortunately their bowling is pretty much ordinary.

Akhter just doesn't have the heart!

With the oneday series win, i can see India beating Pak in the test series too.Probably it will be 2-0 or even 3-0 to India.

I think Pakistan will surrender rather tamely to India in the test series, this i say from experiance. If you look back at Pak home series record, you will see Pak losing to sides like Zimb at home ground, this happened when their isn't unity in the team and the players are despirited.

The biggest problem for Pak is the form of S Akhter. I don't want to offend any Akhter's fans over here, but one thing i've noticed that when Akhter goes through a bad spell he just give up without putting up a fight. How many time we have seen Akhter skipping matches with injury excuse in the middle of a series where he has been struggling with form? I won't be surprised to see Akhter withdrawing his name from the test series against India, or skipping the 2nd and 3 rd test matches after getting hammered in the first test match.

Great bowlers always face challenges rather than shying away, Akhter just doesn't have the heart to stand up when things are not going his way, i really feel that its very unfortunate, and that's one of the reason as to why he will never be able to establish himself as a great bowler.

I think after the test series disaster, a lot of people might lose their job.Inzi might lose captaincy while Miandad might resign as a coach.

Yes twice.

But now that Pak cricket board has finally realised to hire a bowling coarch, Miandad who has firmly resisted such a move might end up resigning from chief coach rather prematurely.

And if the form of Pak bowlers wasn't enough headace for Inzi, all those stupid match fixing allegation must be giving him a real horrible time.Pak team is really in a big mess right now

wishful thinking.. but i am desperately hoping this would happen too. If india can clean sweep the series they can get away from a bunch of average teams and work towards being the top team. They havent got much time to do this in.

Oh boy I can't wait to see the highlights tonight :D Laxman's run a ball hundred, Pathan's awesome bowling performance and a bit of pinch hitting from the tail will be great to watch :D

Absolutely awesome ODI series, brilliant cricket all round. I'm so happy India came back to win this series, great fighting spirit. :)

Bring on the tests.
