They're only good at home as a new ball pair, they were utterly ineffective in aus. Don't recall them having success in England either where you would expect them to do well
Have done OK in England, but we don't often get tests there. Not so good in Aussie, both played in the Hobart 2011 win, but haven't had both fully fit for the 2015 and 2019 tours.

Southee since Boult's debut

all 55 matches, 238 wickets @ 26
in Eng 4 matches, 20 wickets @ 31
in Aus 6 matches, 21 wickets @ 37

Boult all tests

all 67 matches, 267 wickets @ 27
in Eng 4 matches, 21 wickets @ 23
in Aus 5 matches, 18 wickets @ 38

jadeja is just the worst. he'll probably take 3fer too.
Southee also has a good record in Asia (from memory). Which is pretty strange for his type of bowling
Sri Lanka pretty conducive to swing with the humidity. Southee also had one great performance in Bangalore, was a fairly helpful pitch for the quicks IIRC. But yes, overall he's been good in Asia.

Bumrah bowling magnificently. NZ will be thankful he didn't appear to have hit his stride in the first test. As it is, looks like he'll turn this target into a reasonably challenginf one.

southee's first uae tour, despite the poor average on statsguru, was excellent channel bowling with a couple of big scalps at the right time.

india are too short here. it looks good but they would have had at least a wicket maiden there if they were fuller. blundell's been able to withdraw the bat from the play and miss and lathams leaving on their length.

I do like that Blundell, even though he looks suspect when the opening bowler hits a full-ish length, continues to hit the boundary balls for four.

It will be an interesting selection question if he continues to do well, or at least passably, as an opener, especially as Watling gets closer to retirement.

Rigor calling Blundell "every bit an opener" on air and saying he'd got the gig on the basis of sheer volume of runs. Hmm.

dane cleaver doesn't exist in sky commentary land

and ftr if blundell can consolidate the opener position, cleaver should be watling's heir.
