***Official*** India in New Zealand 2020

I do think that this summer has shown NZ has real problems in the batting department though. Taylor to me looks more and more like he’s trading on past glories. Nicholls has lost that ability to scrap his way to ugly scores. Latham still can’t hack it for long enough against pressure pace bowling. Really, they’re relying on KW to make a score way too much.
Yep, this series really hasn't eased any of the batting concerns that came to the fore in the Australia series.

I do think things are shaping up for a memorable Williamson captain's knock tomorrow though.

Perfect scenario for Jadeja to make a quick 50 then jag a few with the ball. Reckon 180 would be one of those annoying scores even if the pitch is better.

Kohli has been absolutely abysmal this series. Either has a great series or goes completely missing doesn't he ? A fifty from him in either of the innings would have put India ahead.

im willing to write off the australian tour as typical disgusting kiwi 'cricket is our humility lesson sport' melting and 4 tests against other opposition is samplesizelol but if taylor/nicholls continue this trend into next summer then it's time to bring in the younger millennials and gen z who have no memory of a competent australian rugby side or ricky ponting.

Has these atrocious series a bit too often for such a great player.
3 in his career so far with some totally dominant ones as well, I will take that. He doesn't make inconsequential runs to keep up the average when he's in a rut.

Yeah absolutely. At least 3 now. England 2014, Aus 2017 and NZ 2020. His problem seems to be as mental as technical. There was a time I thought he would end up in the topmost echelon of batsmen (top 10 perhaps) given that he would rack up a set of hundreds when in full flow. It looks a distant dream now. Just hoping that he would end up as an ATG convincingly though not as high as I expected him to be.

Yeah AWTA which is why you wouldn't relax no matter what NZ have to chase. Blundell's made a decent fist of the opening slot but his two dismissals in the series have shown he's not a permanent solution. Taylor's been less than reliable for more than 2 years now (seems to get out a number of times trying to hit his way out of trouble). Nicholls the biggest worry of the lot, as I was hoping he'd eventually slot into the top 4 - hopefully he isn't required to do a great deal in the 4th innings, but if he is needs a decent outing to restore some confidence. Watling too has had a mixed season. Otherwise, the feeling is that Young and Conway would be welcomed in the lineup as soon as they're available.

Whatever it takes!!!
Lol @ people writing off Kohli after he scored a hundred literally two tests ago. I think England 2014 was the only sustained rut of failure type run. The 2017 series had mitigating circumstances of playing with a dislocated shoulder for 3 innings and this was just a two test series.

I am not denying he has work to do but most great players can go bad for two tests. I would rather worry about someone like Rahane who just seems to have forgotten how to bat in the moment. Seems to have a million thoughts in his head and honestly, the bloke jumping around today was a far cry from the one who hooked Mitch Johnson to retirement in 2014. I am starting to wonder if there is a real case for him to be dropped and Vihari to be the regular #5. Seems like his catching has gone a bit downhill recently too, going by the drops during the Bangladesh series.

I don't watch a lot of Kohli, is this how he behaves when he's not scoring runs? Telling the crowd to shut the **** up, roaring like a 5 year old etc...or is that still his standard?

He’s just ‘celebrating’ according to some.

I still think India will win. The pitch looks very difficult to bat on. Chasing a decent score on it will be difficult.

I don't know why every team wouldn't play a left armer against Pujara. The man's brain cannot play the ball coming back in at all.
