Whatever it takes!!!
For the folks who are not getting the India feed, Scotty Styris and Sanjay Bangar in a good conversation here about Boult's action. Seems his arm has come a bit lower and is more slingy than earlier now, and therefore, lesser chance of the late swing that he used to have. When the idiot Manjrekar is not on, the star sports comm box is pretty good.

EDIT: Styris added that Boult walked up to the sky commentators box and checked out the footage with Simon Doull and worked on his action again to get it mroe like earlier.

Yup watching that feed, pretty good conversation all around.

Just saw the highlights of a NZ vs SL t20 in the t20 wc of 2012. Southee bowling fire. Consistently in the 140-145 range and even hitting one at 147.9. That's quicker than Boult's best. Quicker than Malinga in the same match...

Why has his pace dropped off so dramatically over the years? Injuries? Bowling within himself? Obsession over line and length? Or is it that in physical stature he still looks like how he did when he debuted lol.

Just seems so staggering to see him bowl in the 120's even though its been his thing for a while. He's still a lock for test matches at home...but that's it. I really wouldn't pick him anywhere else.

Openers from India have been a bit better this inning so far. Is no.1 spot India going to turn up or the India of the past that used to give up quickly going to turn up need to be seen. Ravi Shastri promised they will play like no.1 team but haven't seen any evidence of that yet. Can't ask for a better batting strip than it is today.

That good length creates a problem for Shaw, doesn't it?
More than the length it's the movement off the deck that causes issues as the bat doesn't come straight enough I thought. Besides he lacks patience. To be fair he's got here this far playing like this so why change? If things don't go his way in the long run he will change. Luckily he's very young and has time to iron out issues.

I'm not a huge fan of his as I prefer watching guys that are good to watch but his timing is one of the best I've seen,

Good plan from Boult. I know he hasn't been our most impressive bowler in recent times (pretty much from the exact time everyone started rating him over Southee), feel he must be due a return to form.

Oh yeah, he absolutely is full of potential and can probably be another Sehwag for us. But right now, he is at the stage where he has neither committed to playing the Sehwag way nor figured out a way to put together a more compact technique. He needs more time before he can be either and right now, him being neither here nor there is not good enough for us. He has amazing timing and picks length very quickly. Which is why he is good enough to nick or get bat on difficult balls but unfortunately, that just means he gets out more often.

He needs few more A tours before he can come back as a proper batsman and when we have someone like Jadeja left out, it is just irritating when it is for him. I would have understood if they did it for Rohit (would have still been the same result but at least understandable). I just think its better for the kid's development if they don't let him get found out like this.

Again on the India feed, Sanjay Bangar called the plan at the start of the over. Well executed by Boult and great backing up by Latham too. Stuff for Shaw to think about.

Also re Jamieson's batting, so good to have a fast bowler in the side who is genuinely decent with that bat. NZ haven't had one in aaaaaages, I struggle to think of any who could hold a place in the side from bowling only, while contributing with the bat, since Jacob Oram.

There is a lot of comparison between Shaw and Sehwag by the commentators. I think he's of the same sort as Sehwag as well but one thing with Sehwag was his back lift and balance was amazing. Sehwag had amazingly good hands, one of the best. Shaw goes hard at the ball. Sehwag's was clean flow of the bat with no staggered or hard hands. Unfortunately Shaw doesn't have that but he has Sehwag's attitude. Shaw is probably more suited to bat in the middle order perhaps, he will be less exposed and he's a wonderful player of spin from what I've heard.
