First triple, highest 6th wicket partnership, highest debut century at 8, highest test score by NZ. At 5/94 I had hoped a monumental effort by Watling and Baz would save us from embarrassment but I didn't imagine it could get this good. This is the best performance I've seen (like literally watched & followed) NZ achieve since Aus 01/02.

Neesham's gone from great to brilliant. Watching him yesterday I thought he batted extremely well but his innings wasn't without chances. He didn't come in with a deficit to overhaul but it was still slightly precarious in that if India had finished us off quickly after Watling went they possibly could've chased the lead at the time with over a day to go. Reaching his hundred and continuing he has become brilliant, and looked so level headed as well, unphased by the international test arena. Coupled with his 33 in the first low scoring innings he's looked like a completely different player than to the one I would've been doubtful of performing at this stage in his career, but he really has gone from strength to strength to this summer and he deserves to keep his spot as batsman alone even for the next test series.

Declaration. Amazing effort. Overjoyed by this :)

And there's the declaration. Scarcely believable innings by our guys. So proud.

How much are the Indian batsmen going to hate going out to bat?

Declaration came before Rahane, Pujara and Vijay got overs.

Vijay going for 20+ would have made my week. Let's hope for another failure by him.

Wouldn't mind former Central Districts star Murali Vijay getting a consolation score.

Oh and obvz Affly will agree with me this massive flop from the Indian bowlers is all down to fielding fringe FC batsmen in the NZ eleven.

Imagine India will go for the block-out but if we get our backs up, could see us dismissing them for <150. We have the firepower. But entirely reliant on Southee and Boult getting the new ball to dance. If India see out that period without serious loss it'll be a draw.
