Inserted on a green top without Taylor or openers who score runs etc. Etc.
Coupled with 105 in the 2nd NZ innings of the series, plus being dismissed for under 100 vs England and SA last year, our batting hasn't turned the corner as previously thought. Still susceptible to awful collapses.

Yeah absolutely. We have two number 6s, two good middle order bats and a very handy wicketkeeper. Never going to get much consistency with that.

These two have batted so well. Lead has almost gone and NZ actually have an outside shot at this.

5000 test runs for McCullum! Was just thinking that it was nice to see McCullum come back from poor form with a century against a poor Windies attack, and then a repeat of his 2010 double century vs India was great. A third century for the summer though...... that would be a breakthrough of some sort.

McCullum's best home series since 09/10 vs Pak, Bang and Aus. Best ever, really.

Have been critical of him in the past to the point of calling for his dropping, but this summer he's really shown something. How good he can be when he really does apply himself. Makes some of his failures in the past all the more frustrating.

Has only scored more runs in a series in that 3 match series in India.

Definitely his best series with the bat ever.
