He'd also have a career average of 50+If Root adds 39 tomorrow and doesn't get out then he will finish the series with an average of 100 (assuming he doesn't have to bat again)

Oh yeah. Man crush of near Jono/Virat proportions (but in the context of a better batting average). Is there anyone not yet n the Buttler train, or have we all accepted him into our hearts?
Fair effort that.Root only the third Englishman to ever hit 50 in every test of a five match series.
Who are the other 2 Cab?Root only the third Englishman to ever hit 50 in every test of a five match series.
The other two are Hammond and MayWho are the other 2 Cab?
Cook just missed out in 2010/11 (32 + 13 at the WACA)
I think he meant he just missed out in the sense of him getting 4/5.The other two are Hammond and May
Not sure if I've misinterpreted you but I'd say Cook falling 18 short is more than 'just' missing out - it's hitting a 50 in each match, not 50 across both innings.
If Root goes on with it in the morning then you can throw his hat into the MOtS ring too
Yeah this.......and his 32 being "only" 18 short.I think he meant he just missed out in the sense of him getting 4/5.
Oh dear I really have confused the thread..........you're right, it is a half century in each test, not 50 across both innings.Wait, it's fifty across both innings? Assumed it was registering a half century in every test.
That's arbitrary, what if MSD scores 99?Bhuvihhas faded but I'd still give him mots. If Dhoni finally tons up outside the sc in the second innings I'd give it to him.
