Pleased that Woakes got that early wicket. I think he's got more ability and more promise as a bowler than he's been given credit for: he gets real movement at a good pace, and his FC stats suggest he might make a genuine Test all-rounder. Just needs a couple of good returns with the ball and he will need to be taken seriously.

TBF England have bowled really well in this session.

The atmosphere has given a little help (I'm only a few miles from The Oval and wouldn't say it is particularly a swing bowlers day) but, essentially, the bowling has been consistently challenging.

Lets see what the better Indian batsmen can do though

Because he is. Anderson is Wasim to Steyn's McGrath IMO*. One has more tricks up his sleeve, the other one's just better at getting ****s out.

*admittedly the Anderson-Steyn gap is much wider than Wasim-McGrath but the point stands.
