***Official*** India in England 2014

Amazed Dhoni didn't go for that. Could easily have ended up going between him and first slip if Dhawan wasn't completely aware. #IHateDhoni

How much longer do we stick with Robson? Has a clear technical deficiency outside off-stump.

It doesn't matter what we'd have done. We are all reacting to what Cook has done. You need to get off your high horse now and then and stop spouting utter garbage.
Yea we will all just sit back and not debate it when Cook costs England 10-15 win % simply by making another terrible, stereotyped decision.

Terrible captaincy once again

FMD. Do you really think this was Cook's decision alone?

To enforce or not enforce the follow on is a debatable point and there are good arguments for and against........but in no way at all is it a terrible decision.

Probably not terrible. But it really was the perfect opportunity to destroy us when we were on the mat. Anderson was in his element, all the bowlers were fresh, you have the new ball and a big lead ... Should've enforced without a doubt.

Not enforcing just complicates things... Not knowing how much time you need to bowl out India, how big a target to set etc.

IMO, not enforcing the follow on was the best outcome for both teams. England do need to keep Broad fit for the next two tests.

The arguments for not enforcing the follow-on are it gives big girl's blouse Broad a chance to put his feet up for another 3-4 hours so they don't have to listen to him whinging at lunch after having all night to rest up. And the other one is batting last might be fractionally harder than batting today - although that's dubious given the heavy roller.

So basically next to no argument for batting now.

Enforcing the follow on means we'd have to bowl about 230 overs on the spin. If the Indian bats got after Moeen that could kill Broad/Jimmy.

Batting again was the right decision, India can still take overs out of the game either way so that argument is devoid of logic.

Batting way to slowly though here,

How does one go about getting all access passes to the England rooms?

Big girls blouse? He's bowled 124 overs in 21 days. I'd say he deserves a bit of a rest, especially considering he's carrying injuries. As long as Cook gets on with it, it shouldn't be an issue. I'd rather we batted now, and set a total, and save Broad and Anderson from breaking down, than bowl them into the dirt for another 2 days.

No India can't take overs out of the game tomorrow because a minimum 90 overs have to be bowled. The laws are there to cover teams taking the piss on the final day - I still remember England's win in the dark at Karachi.

They can do it today because play goes until 6.30pm.

I remember when England declared in india and set india about 430

Then Sehwag came out and smashed 80 of 50 and Tendulkar scored a 100 and India won lol....dont think that will be happening this test match though lol! Will be batting for draw

What time did Eng start their innings? Haven't been paying much attention to the over rate but the Indians don;t appear to be too slow to me.......certainly not taking the piss. Only break was a short one when the groundsman brought the wacka thing on.

He shouldn't be telling the media they're 100% not going to enforce the follow-on, even if they are 100%.

Yes they can, Bad Light at the Oval 5th Test of the 2013 Ashes ring a bell?

Starc aborting his run up 3 times in order to make sure his over lasted like 12 minutes?

Lost 4 overs that day.

You guys should just chill. I think Cook should've enforced but I hardly think it makes a difference. You have two full days... Get to around 450 lead with a day and a session to go. Should be more than enough.

Runrate of 2.70 is pretty poor but it'll shoot up quickly when Bell comes in.
