but their fielders did not help by dropping catches and bungling run-out chances.
Just the single drop, right? And howmany run-out chances would have been Out, would it have been direct hits?

Did I miss something? Or do journalists take the piss out of facts as they like?

There was one run out that may have been close with a direct hit, but nothing else I can recall.

The scoring rate was around 3 until Jadeja went with the leg side field. Which in fairness did work. I'd assume they'll push on tomorrow if their is no epic collapse. I'd want 550 by close.

cbf checking the entire thread but is it just me who thinks Dhawan's action can be euphemistically described as 'not great'?

My fellow Indian fans. I hate to interrupt the celebrations but I have bad news.

I was supposed to go to this Lord's test match but in the end couldn't make it. Instead I will be attending day 1 of the 3rd test in Southampton.

I remind you all of my record of attending Indian away cricket matches - 7 losses and 1 draw.

Never attended an Indian win outside of India. I may **** this series up
Happened again.

It's not great, but given he's a part-timer and Williamson was able to throw away for a couple of dozen tests without being reported I have my doubts.

Dhawan's action is horrid. Looks like he just learn how to bowl after making the Test side to fill MSD's fetish for part-time offies since Viru, Raina and Rohit weren't in the XI for a while.

Vijay's action is much nicer and cleaner. But I think it's the dirty action that made MSD toss the ball to Dhawan instead. Hoping to squeeze out a wicket due to the unorthodoxy of his action.

Doesn't the ECB do their own internal tests? Doubt Moeen would have made it this far without being cleared once already. I mean, look what happened to likes of Maurice Holmes and Alex Loudon.

Oh; and fantastic innings from Cook. England seems a lot more dangerous when he scores runs. You can imagine him being a bit more confident in the field, and the dressing room atmosphere being lighter with a few more smiles. They will be a more relaxed, confident side in general, which doesn't bode well for India.

Having said that, I can imagine this being the kind of pitch all the Indian batsmen will love. Nice consistent pace and carry, bit of swing and seam but nothing too extravagant. See off the new ball and make merry.

Somebody have Jono blacklisted from Indian tests.

Had Jadeja taken that catch yesterday....... Anyways, I would prefer dropping Shami instead of Pankaj for the next test, but can't see that happening.

Gonna email the ECB and ask them to comp you tickets for the rest of the series.

Been impressed with Pankaj, don't think he'll be waiting much longer for a wicket. Not sure what Holding's talking about though - "not many people can afford to take time off work." Most of us have paid annual leave, after all.

Biggest worry is probably that he's developed a doosra this season. Doubt anyone's had a proper look at that.
