Ananth: "Interesting stat - right now in this series, the top four batting averages and the top four bowling averages for India are held by the same people, in the same order!"

That's just brilliant batting from Kumar. What can a captain do in these situations? Give Moeen a go maybe.

I would definitely give spin a chance. As a bonus it will give us some idea how threatening Jadeja will be later.

This is too good to be true. Bhuvi is seriously an awesome talent. Hope board doesnt do a Pathan here by taking help from other greats who might ruin Bhuvi!

It's hilarious but sad that we have three players (Ashwin, Bhuv, Jadeja) who've played about ten tests each and have immense all-rounder stats but we all know that they're not going to sustain it over a long enough period. :(
Bhuvi is probably the one you'd hope to sustain it. Been crying out for a good seam bowling all-rounder for a long time.

Eh, its not a million miles away from Stuart Broad's career averages.

30 with ball and 24 with bat.
and Stuart Broad is an incredibly important player who should walk into a World XI.

Besides considering the scarcity of spinners overall, our hypothetical cricketer would be the second best spinner in the world after Ajmal. World class spinners are just incredibly valuable and rare cricketers.

Yeah thats probably true, guess I just prefer all rounders who have a clear elite part of their game rather than equally good but not great at both.

Jadeja is an elite bowler in helpful conditions tbf. Just has a long way to go as a bowler away from the dustbowls that have been served up for him in India so far.

Decline of Prior has been the biggest difference between 2012/13 England and the one we've seen in the last year. He was the only reason we didn't lose both away series in India and NZ.

But Broad's a fast bowler. Can only bowl half as many overs.
Not with Cook as captain. Now he hasn't got Swann to bowl 30 overs and get 3-80 he just bowls Anderson and Broad into the ground and has no idea how to use anyone else. His only other plan is to tell Plunkett to bang it in halfway down from round the wicket no matter what the track is like.
