What the **** is Yadav doing. Stop bowling it short you moron. Has all the talent in the world but just absolutely nothing in between the ears.

Turned the ball a long way before his injury that stopped his bowling. Remember him bowling a left hander around the legs with turn once. Could have been Gilly.
Yeah it was at the WACA in 08 when we won. Also has a 5-fer at Delhi against Aus, the one to get Hussey was class.

we need to make a decision if we want quick bowlers or if we want good bowlers even if they are not quick. We have been backing too many quick bowlers who haven't been bowling well.".
End of the road for Umesh and Aaron?

But before that you spent years picking **** bowlers who also weren't quick, so I think he is making a false argument.

I hate Dhoni. Jadeja can stink up the joint for ages, but Umesh has a bad series after a damn good world cup and he makes this statement. MSD is a fool and a very biased one at that.

Cricket lovers want Bangladesh to succeed, no doubt about that, but you've got to accept that lots and lots of ICC money has been poured into Bangladesh cricket for many years now. And quite honestly, we, the cricketing nations of the world, need to see more from them. Bangladesh have a huge cricket-mad population and I realise it takes time to be able to match the big countries. It's always happened like that - it took time for West Indies, New Zealand, Pakistan after partition, even India were not able to match England or Australia on equal terms in the early days. Now they are.

But none of these countries received a financial help or clout that Bangladesh have had over the years. They've had loads of money. These countries had to make a lot on their own, there wasn't money around, there wasn't television revenue for ICC, or whoever run world cricket, to pour in to India, Pakistan, New Zealand, West Indies when they were in their infancy.

And Sri Lanka, let me tell you. I've forgotten them but I shouldn't because they've been wonderful…they've won a World Cup. I want them (Bangladesh) to enjoy their success but I don't think you need to get carried away, you need to keep it in perspective because more is required. An occasional one-day is lovely but we need more.

He's always been a fool. Has somehow worked out for him. Dumping Umesh would be sad. Wouldn't mind him just playing tests though must admit.

Yes, because England never exploited the vast riches of their colonial empire which never included Bangladesh.

MSD was spot on what he said about the quicks. I think the Indian selectors have this habit of picking bowlers who are comparatively quicker than the competition, even if they are not up to the mark. Yadav and Aaron were picked way to early, they should have played a bit more domestic cricket and A tours.

Umesh has always been hit or miss. I always felt that he should have been used as a test specialist, he looks a lot better when he is just attacking the batsmen with complete freedom. Aaron looks weird, with the amount of loose deliveries that he offers, I wonder if it will be a good idea to play both him and Yadav in the same team unless they show plenty of improvement.

And yes, we need to play 2 spinners, regardless of the format and conditions. We do have spin bowlers with good potential, they won't learn to be effective in different conditions unless they are provided with enough opportunities.
Even in domestic cricket, the focus is more on the quicks, most pitches in the last 2 seasons have been tailored to suit pace bowlers, this might hamper the growth of quality spinners.

Umesh has been really disappointing. Keeps straying it down the leg.

Overconfidence lost Bangladesh the game. Too many shots.

Might as well be bowling seamup and not spin as he's the straightest bowler in cricket history

#Pews
Haha when I was going through the thread and Raina's bowling came up I was going to make a post about him being the straightest bowler of all time, but it looks like I don't have to now.
