Jeez, what a pathetic display.

Well done to Banglas though. Arrogance is funny on a message board but will **** you up on a cricket field.
Bangladesh is a better ODI side. It's not like we lost because of arrogance or over confidence, really.

I never saw this ad as anything disrespectful tbh. If anything it portrays BD as a rising power in cricket.
Yeah, but calling a team which has knocked you out of a previous World Cup 'bachcha' is a bit rich. Maybe the Aussies could have pulled off this ad.

The Indian ODI side has poor batsmen. This is the major issue facing the side. Most of these players are not sound batsmen. We need a revamp. I remember that after we lost badly in an ODI series in Australia in 1999, Gavaskar mentioned that talent was lacking and we dumped a lot of those guys. We have always had people in our team who haven't been up to scratch but we drop them and try other players. We have been playing the same guys for ages now and this isn't a nice strategy if they are not that talented. Just because it is ODI cricket doesn't mean that you do not need batting ability. Bring in Kedar Jadhav. Bring in Karun Nair. Bring in some of the guys who did well in the previous domestic OD season. These guys don't cut it. Let Kohli be the captain but let him go with a fresh group of batsmen to Zimbabwe. Then, maybe, we can focus on our bowling issues.

Yup, if India had lost to Pakistan after the mauka mauka ads, the Pakistanis would have been justified in mocking us because that ad was undeniably a taunt.

This ad is not a taunt. This reaction seems to be a continuation of the need to forcefully generate a chest thumping narrative of "we proved you wrong" by ignoring the fact that the ad actually acknowledges that the kid is capable of holding his own in the big boys league.

Wait THAT's the ad Bangladesh is so upset about? Geez, they must have only watched the first 15 seconds of it given their reaction <_<

Bangladesh turning into the new India when it comes to cricketing extremes it seems lol.

The same team that won 7 consecutive games at the WC? India haven't yet found their best combinations and they are chopping and changing a bit as a result, but its ridiculous to compare India to England. One must also give credit to Bangladesh, some quality bowling and batting this year in various conditions, especially a force at home, I wouldn't bet against them in their own conditions unless its Australia playing.
You could be right, but you lost to Australia in the semi final because you had Rahane and Dhoni stinking it out at the end, and today was another abysmal innings from Dhoni and Raina. Gutless innings like that was what England in the Cook era took great pride in, crawling their way to a nothing score while the opposition chased it without breaking sweat. Nobody is suggesting they should be batting like Afridi but you got to be more positive than that. Bangladesh are improving, but don't tell me they are unplayable all of a sudden.

Raina at least can go hard, so I assume its team orders that he bats like he did today, however can Dhoni hurt you anyone anymore? Look at how England and NZ batted recently, they lost wickets and kept playing positively and instead of a middling score by playing positively they ended up getting big scores.

India have to ask themselves a few questions.

1... Who do they have that can hurt you in the last 15 overs? Dhoni ? Eh not IN 2015. Give some kids a chance.

2... Rayudu? Seriously, How incredibly boring. Why no Yadav, Pandya, Hooda?

3...What is the point of Jadeja? If he is batting as an all rounder he needs to be exceptional at something? Will he rip a side apart? Will he make a difference with the bat? Doubtful.

W T F..

I really don't even know what to say, I personally, and I'm sure a lot of other Indian fans have acknowledged that Dhoni isn't quite as good at the big hits towards the end as he use to be, as well as the fact that Rahane is not good at rotating the strike. Dhoni batted at 4 today which is the position I would have him coming in to begin with, Rahane should be at 6 as he is better at finishing off the innings and playing his shots with freedom coming in from over 30+ unlike after 15 when 2-3 wickets have fallen and you need to consolidate.

Today was abysmal from Dhoni and Raina of all players? Seriously what are you on, they came together when 4 wickets had fallen and had played it PERFECTLY to not lose wickets until the batting powerplay, Raina played a bad shot at the time at which he did obviously but that happens, on another day the two of them could have maximized the PP overs for 40-50 runs. Lets also not forget that the 19 year old pacer bowled exceptionally, his wickets weren't freebies, he bowled accurately and his change of pace is aided by the kind of surfaces Bangladesh provide so all credit to him and B-desh.

As far as Jadeja is concerned he is a utility player, exceptional fielder (can we count his run outs under his wickets tally plz?), a batsmen with potential if given the chance to get in and a limited but useful bowling option. Jadeja can add immense value to the Indian side if played properly, I wouldn't mind giving him a spot at 5 as Raina is the better hitter but then Raina has earned his #5 spot. So yes that's a tricky one.

No one supports Rayudu, he's a limited cricketer and India have better, Dhoni's just being consistent with his approach of giving everyone a chance, not that I agree with it but I can't fault him either for it.

Nevermind whatever we just discussed though, how about we get to the real issue which resulted in India losing these 2 ODI's, TOP ORDER BATS! The top 4 haven't clicked at all! A fifty each from Rohit and Dhawan but no one's gone on to make those big scores and partnerships, don't blame the middle order for India's top order capitulations, especially when its easier to bat during the start of the innings rather than in the middle and end.

Yeah the top order won't be getting any prizes, but crawling like that today was poor and symbolized a negative old fashioned mindset from India. You don't need to be going at a strike rate of 300 or anything silly, but a little more positivity please. They were blocking out Nasir ffs.

On the top order, I somewhat agree, but to be fair, they got off to a decentish start on Thursday and nothing followed. Rohit is infuriating, but anybody who can score 2 doubles no matter the era is a gun.

Dhoni? Who knows, maybe he can turn it around, he has earned the right to have opportunities, but he has been a pale shadow of his former self. Its crazy really, nobody would have thought when he emerged he one day would end up possibly to slow for the format.

Jadeja? Luckily the alternatives which are few are never going to get a chance in the Dhoni era, but he needs to get out of his slump, not offering enough at the moment with anything.

Harsh somewhat on the world cup performance maybe, but neither covered themselves in glory that day, but that is a dull argument really, so no need to go over that I think.

India should abandon the last game, go home, and invite Sri Lanka on short notice for a quick 5-match ODI series. Then everyone can come back to form.

Hahaha. Still playing ODIs like it is 1992, need to look at modern sides like England.

England are trailblazers, to be fair on India, they don't have a great domestic competition like the blast where learning how to deal with David Masters is fantastic preparation for what international cricket has to offer.

Jadeja should be dropped imo. Atleast untilhe gets his confidence back in the domestic tournament or something. It's been a long time since he's looked threatening with either the ball or bat.

Can Bangladesh salvage some national pride and win the third game?

Banglawash!

Is Mustafizur Rahman the goods? Or is he just having a career start of Ajantha Mendis proportions?

If the Zim series happen, I wonder how strong the squad that goes over there will look like. Tempted to hope for an experimental side that can provide some young ones and fringe players opportunities to emerge to the spotlight.

So now the question is, do we use the 3rd ODI for a bit of experimenting, or do we go for the #Banglawash ?
