Wonder what Tait's speeds were like in that spell. He seemed to be really pushing it through more so than effectively slinging the ball.

The difference between Tendulkar batting with tailenders and Laxman doing it is that Tendulkar is good at it. Laxman looks confused and in a foreign place when he is batting with tail enders. It isn't a part of his game. I am not criticising Laxman for this particular inning as this is the way he is but this is another reason why he should have batted at 3 if not 5 in this test.
On top of that I'm not sure Laxman inspires as much belief in the tailenders as Sachin does. He was such a calming influence on Bhaji in his Sydney knock, got him to focus on the job at hand and max out his ability.

They are showing the 369 run chase score card from Hobart 1999 v Pakistan. Chappell mentioned the Langer nick and Akarm does it too. Seriously, still can't believe that was given not out. One of the biggest deflections ever. Series could have been so competitive had Langer been given out.

Since 2005, Australia has made over 370 only once (in 2005) in a drawn match. If they do win this game, it would be a record chase for Australia in Australia.
Didn't know that, but 370 was pretty much my upper limit. With no Hayden, I give this game 90/10 to India now. I'll reserve that 10% because, like I said earlier, this is an exceptional team, but I certainly expect India to win the match from this point.

Bloody India (and Laxman) ending our run again, though it could be said there's a little poetic justice at play after Sydney.

I'm not going to say Laxman bats well with the tail. What I will say though is this is looking awfully familiar to his partnership with Zaheer in Jo'burg 2006/07.

Yeah Chappell mentioned how without Hayden, it will be very tough for Australia to chase as well. 380 was my limit. I give it 95-5 for India now. It will be very tough for Australia but beause it is Australia, it isn't completely impossible.

It's 100/0 mate. 300 was the maximum on this pitch when you factor in the swing.

I would be astonished if India lost the match from here. I think they've done enough to win it comfortably...

It looks like the conditions are great - they won't fall to swing twice. The pitch has very few demons in it - and this is one of the best batting lineups ever, even without Hayden.
