There is quite a few Lleyton Hewitt style C'mons happening around the country right now and not a tennis ball to be seen.

Rauf would have given that...then again Rauf seems to give anything that looks like it might hit at least a stump either side :p

Tendulkar gone for 13

Honestly, I feel pretty sorry for the Indian fans.
It's one thing to feel sorry after your players are gone or to feel upset when you're behind...but ****...you're upset even when you're in front.

Well dojne to Johnson on getting Ganguly but he is leaking runs badly. Not sure we are in a position to buy wickets. Hes been going at 7.5 per over this innings ouch! thats 20/20 figures.

Oh dear, pathetic work from Dravid, Tendulkar and Ganguly. Come on VVS.
Agreed. SRT has been pushing that LBW a bit this series, even in the first innings of this test at the start of his knock and soon after he passed 50, he was getting a little too crease bound and getting rapped in front when trying to work it away on the onside over and over again. Been lucky so far, until now.

Reckon Lee and Clark will target that again in Adelaide.

Oh, and yes. India :(

But really (rhetorical question) how good are Australia? If they get this, they will be so very deserving.

No, because Australia will likely win. That's not the point though. You're being an asshole for the sake of being an asshole.

You say India struggle to win test matches. Ummm they're better at doing that than any other team other than Australia. They're clearly 2nd best in the world, its just Australia are a crap load better than them.

You mock India in this thread and forum all the time like they're the worst team in the world. They're far better than Pakistan, New Zealand, West Indies and England and just ahead of SL and South Africa as well.

No other team would have even come close to getting a first innings lead against Australia on home soil.
For the record, I don't think India are the worst team in the world by any measure. WI and NZ are definitely significantly worse ATM. As for Pakistan, England, SL and SA, it's sort of level.

I think India are the biggest underachievers in the world, though. They generally put in spineless performances, for as long as I remember, and for the amount of talent the country has, it always punches far below its weight. But it's similar to India's performance with the Olympics, and pretty much in every sporting field - I guess there isn't much that can be done about it (and all kinds of 3rd world countries do better, so lack of infrastructure and facilities is no excuse). If a college student goes to secondary school, should we all be happy that he's scoring straight As? That's the complacency of India and its fans that bothers me.

Years later, are people gonna remember who put in the first innings lead, or who actually won the game? I respect NZ because they usually play as well as they possibly could, given the population and the background of the country. For India, it's one disappointment after another. The only victory I consider as a reversal of India's abysmal performance history is the series win in England. I don't consider the Pak series because it's at home against a crap attack (where even Yuvraj made a hundred) and the WI series because everyone wins in WI.

Ponting would have dragged Johnson if this was a one dayer long ago!!!
When is my mate Clarkey coming on to clean up the tail again?

The reality though, as Jono and others have pointed out, is that this actually IS a really good period for Indian cricket. And they are actually doing really well this tour - they arguably could well have won the last test if not for the umpiring, and even if they lose this one (against an amazing opponent - and they are still in a very good position) they have clearly demonstrated that they are the bona fide number two team and they can definitely mix it up with the Australians.

It's one thing to be pessimistic (or cautious, even), but why all the glee and the schadenfreude?
