Of course you'd say that. You're the most likely one here to be playing in a tour game one day! :D

They also offer some of us the opportunity to say "Hey, I used to play with that guy!" as in the case of Ryan Bulger.
Or, "Hey, I reverse swept that guy"

So anyway, I thought Hogg didn't bowl particularly well in Sydney, especially on the fifth day when we needed a spinner to get us the win. I know what Ponting was saying about the rough's position meaning Clarke or Symonds were a better bet, but still it was a shame, especially given his heroics with the bat.

Given the WACA seems to have regained a lot of its former characteristics, I think this is one test where we should forego the specialist spinner and trust Clarke and Symonds to do any tweaking that's required. I think the opportunity to add Tait to the mix on a quick wicket is too tempting to pass up. I'd bring Hogg back for Adelaide though, with whoever out of Johnson and Tait puts in the worse performance at Perth making way.

The only problem will be that when Tait shows a typical level of restraint and knocks Harbhajan's head off with a bouncer, and then follows up with another 3 bouncers in the same over, the whole aggro between the teams will once again be on for young and old.

Eh, I don't think Indians would complain about bouncers. If so, they're stupider than I thought.

EDIT: Hey, 15000 posts!

I don't think so either, unless Tait or someone else got so carried away that they were clearly bowling at the batsman's body/head, rather than with the intent of getting him out. Which is unlikely, you'd hope.

Well done on 15k btw. Although you did about 11k of that in one 5 week period IIRC.

Even so, they have helmets now, unlike the 1930s - I wouldn't really mind.

Well, I did do about 5k in a five week period. :p That was a bit insane.

Tbh i wouldn't drop George just on the basis of his performance in the Sydney test, he adds variety to the side as he is a handy bat lower down the order and his bowling has been pretty decent considering he is bowling against the Indians.
Having said that i would have Tait in the side for sure for the WACA, but not at the cost of George, i would drop Johnson and pick Tait instead of him, Johnson has looked pretty ordinary in the last two test matches and there is lot of scope for improvement in his bowling.
All this talk that the WACA pitch is back its old pacy best sounds good, but still we can't be sure that it would assist pace bowlers through the game or not, in a five day game pitch conditions tend to change so having a spinner up your sleeves won't be bad idea, it would have been worth playing four fast bowlers at the WACA if all quickes were in form, but Johnson looks out of sorts and Tait as lethal as he is, he is still pretty unpredictable, i would prefer three quicks and one spinner (that is if Hogg doesn't get banned) for WACA.
It would be interesting to see what the Indian team composition for the Perth test would be like, would they play Harbhajan or pick a quickie instead of him?
