Whatever it takes!!!
The only logic about send offs is that the batsman does not have a chance to respond with his bat. By that logic, Smith should not have sledged Pandya after his over either, given he was not going to be given another over while Smith was batting... :p So either way, Smith is just as a big **** as Kohli and in this case, deserved all he got. I mean, forget all this, what about going after that poor Holder about that test and the Cronje offer he made him?

Bumrah's action reminds me of both Andre Nel and Debashish Mohanty in a strange way.

I'll admit actually I was harsh on Kohli initially, had forgot Smith had slagged off the newbies while grabbing his junk.

I'd rather have a passionate captain who retorts to the slightest offence with absolute fury rather than childish gestures. I'd prefer a captain with a pair of testes so large that the other 10 players need to carry it around in procession behind him like bridesmaids do a wedding gown, instead than a sniveling weasel like Smith.

Yeah.. but Smith is also the one who goes after Hardiks... :p Maybe why he is after Kohli so much.. where is that pic when you need it...

Kohli has said that he went after Smith because Smith had a lot to say to Hardik in his first over. So basically if Kohli is a **** for going after a batsman who has been dismissed, Smith is an even bigger **** for going after someone on debut, verbally. So the bully got out-bullied. :p

I guess Smith just likes to after Hardiks...
nah not even close

Smith makes dick moves from time to time. Kohli is a penis all the time

just quietly, i think the structure of the team today is better than the one from the other game and could be a goer for the WC. but it means no Lynn, Head, Usman etc

finch
marsh (Warner)
lynn (Smith)
maxwell
watson
wade
faulkner (possibly Mitch Marsh if they wanted a bit more batting)
hastings
boland
tye
lyon
I would probably go the extra bat and see how this top 5 works: Finch Khawaja Smith Lynn Maxwell

After that a keeper at 6 - I would go Handscomb but looks like Bancroft will have a chance now. Depending on the circumstances, number 7 and 8 might bat in front of him.

Watson and Faulkner are the obvious choices at the moment with Marsh and even Stoinis waiting in the wings.

For the spinner, I want to see Zampa get a game. For the 2 quicks I'm not really sure. I would have liked to have seen Behrendorff, I don't know if he is fully fit or not. I can now see why the selectors went for Tait because if we don't pick him we end having 4 guys who don't hurry the batsman and we struggle to take enough wickets. In saying that, lets try Richardson and Tye.

So my XI for the opening game of the World T20 comp is:

Finch Khawaja Smith Lynn Maxwell Handscomb Watson Faulkner Zampa Richardson Tye

In summary, Australia will be doing well to get out of the group stages unless a bat or two have unbelievable tournaments.

Khwaja
Warner/Finch
Watson
Smith
Lynn
Maxwell
Paine
Faulkner/Boland
Hastings
Zampa
Boland/Faulkner
Tye

there's twelve as faulkner and boland bat in different positions. mitch marsh a good reserve bat and lyon a good reserve spinner

I don't know why Australia think that they can perform in the World T20 when they don't take any other International T20s seriously and just expect everything to come together when it matters. I know they've got the overlap with the NZ series which is unfortunate but it seems like the entire cast of the BBL is getting a game in this series whereas India are consistently playing the team they think can win.

As has been said before in this thread, Smith will justify this with his made-up-as-he's-gone-along version of "the line", which entails all these apparently natural rules of sledging. According to Smith someone is fair game if they're bowling/batting but not if they've just been dismissed. I pretty much think this is bull**** though. I've got no real gripe with sledging but if you're going to engage in it you definitely shouldn't get on your high horse if someone gives you some back.
I actually kind of agree with this. Send-offs are pathetic IMO, especially if a batsman has been smashing you all over the park then you just happen to get lucky and get him out and behave as if you've won some kind of battle.

I reckon whinging about sledging is just another form of sledging. You're trying to get into someone's head and make them change the way they play. India after the Sydney 08 Test a masterful display of it from the BCCI down.

Oh and Australia just ain't that good at T20. Not exactly sure why, but we've never really found a combination that can really do it well despite having plenty of players who you would think on paper should make a world beating side.

Kohli's T20 average is ridiculous lol, especially considering his SR. I really do wonder what the likes of Tendulkar and Lara would have if T20 was around during their prime days.

They should take sledging to pre match press conferences IMO. Promote it like the UFC and boxing. Kohli can then tell Smith to come to India in the IPL so that he can change Smith's 'bum life.' And how every time Smith plays against India, it is a red panty night in the Smith household.

Kohli's already done that and Australia had a waahhh that those things should stay on the pitch or something.
