they probably weren't as far in in 2006

but let's be honest Taylor was only complaining because Aus were on the receiving end. It's the same rope for both teams and if it had been Warner hitting the 6 I doubt you'd see much complaining
Taylor (and others) come across as ridiculous fanboys

Anyway, ropes were originally brought in as a result of a team-mate of mine successfully suing the NSWCA (?) after suffering an horrific injury in a grade match due to a collision with a fence

Original intention was to protect the players by having the rope 1-2 metres from the fence but that notion has long since gone out the window

5+ metres changes the character f the ground and is a marketing exercise i.e. more 6s = more excitement

If for the WC, they're going with Faulkner, a spinner they've barely tried, and two bowlers they had ranked about 5th and 6th in line 3 months ago (Behind Starc, MJ, NCN and Cummins), a case could be made for picking both of MMarsh and Watson....

Mark Taylor deadset sounds like a guy who's never seen a T20 in his life and is just asking and working out how it all works live on air.

Probably hasn't as the guy literally watches very little cricket unless someone pays him to commentate upon it

They couldn't pay me enough to dress up in lime green and dance on a stage in front of a global audience

Well they could but I'd have to be seriously impaired before doing so
