I think its pretty snobbish to think that Kohli's proven ability to chase in an ODI is irrelevant to what the scenario will be for the last session. Its not directly analogous but his proven temperament and ability to run well between the wickets etc. is relevant. It is still cricket ffs.
there's just so many differences that you shouldn't just assume that he'll do it just because he'd do it in an ODI, though, more than any other batsman of similar quality in this circumstance.

Kohli is more likely to do this than Rahane or Pujara though - and plenty of people on this forum thought Rahane and Pujara was the better batsman only a few months ago.

Very good session for India that.

Next Session should be interesting now. Do they wanna go for the win, if so at what point.

Pujara's done reasonably well in test match chases though, although mostly at home.

Yes, but does that make him the GOAT test chaser?
I only claimed that he was the GOAT chaser.. not the GOAT test chaser since it's really not something people talk about.. Graeme Smith bats well in 4th innings chases but he's an opener who's usually not there at the end soaking pressure so it's different..

Pujara is starting to be a worry for India....unable to face swing bowling in England, unable to play Lyon in this test and lets see how he responds to bouncy tracks in next few tests.

The numbers say:

64% Ind
26% Aus
10% Draw

The draw odds seem a tad too low tbh.

If Ind don't win this now it will feel like a loss imo.

So are India going to have a lick here? Opportunities for Test victories in Australia don't come around often.

plenty of sides have collapsed in a heap during chases with a lot fewer than 160 runs to get, btw.

Time to lock it up. Dont reckon we can take 8 wickets in tbe next session so might as well ensure a draw
