They could bat till Lunch tomorrow and still win in 4 days tbh.I guess Aus's plan should be to bat out half day tomorrow and then try to get India out twice in 2.5 days.
I never said SL would do better.. don't get so conscious - just pointing out that Ind finds a way of not picking their best bowling side when they go overseas.. there's always some newbie they bring in to mentally scar.I'm all doom and gloom right now, but I love how the little Lankans are getting all ****y after winning a 2 test "series" overseas.
Can't really remember too many instances recently tbh. Pankaj deserved to be selected anyway, so he doesn't count.I never said SL would do better.. don't get so conscious - just pointing out that Ind finds a way of not picking their best bowling side when they go overseas.. there's always some newbie they bring in to mentally scar.
Only 3 draws though out of 15 tests...........that's not bad at all.On another note, I knew Adelaide was bad but didn't know it was "worse-than-SSC" bad:

id bat a little bit in the morning anyway i reckon. still heaps of time left.No chance they'd enforce the follow on at the start of such a crazy short turnaround between games.
What can you say about Clarke? He's physically limited and had to carry such a burden. He's copped so much **** for the metrosexual haircut and clothes, the model GF and the flashy car. But he's all western suburbs grit. He's been a fantastic player for Australia.
Yes to both posts. Can't think of an Aussie player who has matured as admirably as Clarke. From doubts over his ability against pace and the short ball, criticisms over his lifestyle, concerns over his choice of girlfriends, talk that he wasn't liked amongst his peers, doubts over leadership and finally having to deal with the Hughes tragedy, Clarke has overcome all challenges. From the guy we all thought a bit aloof to a man that his country is proud of, it has been quite a journey. So happy for Clarke. Was immense since Prince fell. Even crocked he's better than everyone bar Warner and TPC.
Yeah kind of moving over to thinking India should play 5 bowlers. What do you think? When Bhuvi is available matching him with Ashwin, Ishant, Yadav and Karn gives them variety and batting depth.Picking an uncapped average leg spinner leaves a lot to be desired.. Sure Ashwin hasn't been great overseas but surely you have to give him the opportunity to get better? This kind of selection pigeonholes Ashwin into playing just home games and never ever reaching his full potential. This applies to Ojha/Jadeja as well.. ffs pick a couple of spinners and stick to them instead of ****ting on their confidence and being left with jack ****.
It's just my extended rant on Ind just putting no faith in Ashwin.. imo he is a rare genuine all-rounder but needs the backing of the selectors to not just be thrown in the trash can whenever Ind leaves the subcontinent. Can't really remember too many instances recently tbh. Pankaj deserved to be selected anyway, so he doesn't count.
Ive always said Ashwin deserves more chances overseas, but your point about India feeding a debutant to the wolves was weird. Has never really happened. It's just my extended rant on Ind just putting no faith in Ashwin.. imo he is a rare genuine all-rounder but needs the backing of the selectors to not just be thrown in the trash can whenever Ind leaves the subcontinent.
Depends how lolworthy the 1st innings is but I think you are right. They may have a plan to rotate anyway in this series with the WC coming up.No chance they'd enforce the follow on at the start of such a crazy short turnaround between games.
I was referring to Karn and Pankaj.. What's the point of picking Pankaj for 2 tests and ditching him? Either give him a good 5+ test run or don't do it at all. In the case of Karn - there really was no reason to pick him in the first place. You don't turn into Kumble or Warne just because you're in Australia.. now he might do well in the 4th innings but I guarantee you when Ind play in the subcontinent next they will go pick Ashwin/Ojha/Jadeja again.. this kind of selection just screws with career trajectory.. Ashwin is 28.. he should be played as much as possible in tests so that when he becomes 30+ he can lead the attack anywhere.. or Ojha.. or both.. point is the selectors are "spoilt" for choice when it comes to a bunch of mediocre to ok options and they are playing hot potato with them.Ive always said Ashwin deserves more chances overseas, but your point about India feeding a debutant to the wolves was weird. Has never really happened.
I do.Yea I don't think anyone supports Karn's selection here over either Ashwin or Jadeja.
Jadeja has outperformed Ashwin both home and away for last 1 and half to 2 years if i am not wrong. Was certainly the case before England series.I'd take Karn over Jadeja. I don't want to see Jadeja anywhere near the test team in overseas conditions.
Regarding Ashwin, he is too experimental at times which doesn't go down well for the team. But yea considering the bigger picture, it doesn't sound good if the team is not showing faith in the best spinner we have right now.
