***Official*** India in Australia 2011/12

Well if he believes that then he also probably believes it's vitally important for himself to prove his worth in South Africa, England and Australia, which is a good sign for his priorities even if he hasn't gone very well there so far.
So Gambhir is admitting that he's been a massive failure as a Test batsman then?

Whatever it takes!!!

Why does that matter to you so much? :p He probably just believes that everyone should be tested in conditions that are most alien to them... As I said, there is quite a lot of whinging about this interview but at least the guy cares. Our team and board is so ****ed up now that I am willing to think of that as a positive.

This will surely be VVS's last match. Dont see him playing for India after this.

Wish he had bowed out on a more positive note, but a very special player nonetheless.

To be honest I don't know why the Indian players want rank turners, even there batsmen struggle on them as we've seen when Clarke took a 6fer and when England won a test over there in 2006.

Also I have no idea why Gambhir is banging on about which bowling attack is better, he's been crap against both.
Because India would win a lot more often than not on them.

Yea, he's done. Dravid shouldn't see out the end of the year either. Gambhir and Sehwag will do fine for the next couple years since it's all in the subcontinent.

Gambhir's comments don't even make sense. Why is it so important that an Australian fast bowler proves his ability in the subcontinent?
Because he's a moron, who thinks the only real cricket is played on SC dust bowls, and that performances thereon are worth double. I've noticed that whenever Anderson, for instance, is so much as mentioned on Cricinfo or the various Indian fan forums, one can literally count to sixty, reload the page and there'll be a score of comments on the lines of "Anderson? Can't bowl, he's sh*t in the subcontinent". If Anderson can't bowl I wonder what that says about Tendulkar and the other Indian top order bats he's had so much success bowling to over the years.

First time I'm going to be watching this one on Sky Sports HD tonight. Can't wait for that quality viewing. Only thing I'm worried about is the Indian cricket quality. :p

Didn't realize this test starts today and was happily looking forward to a great day of tennis. Should make it to the 4th day here I think. There is a high possibility that India will not make any changes and if the track proves to be a flat track maybe a couple will make centuries cementing their places for the next 2 years.

Hoping this wicket offers something for the spinners this game. Not sure if India are playing both tweakers, but it would be good to see both Ashwin and Lyon bowl on a surface that has something in it for them from day three onwards. If Zaheer bowls a lot first dig there should be some rough both of them can exploit later in the match.

Glorious Adelaide weather today, not a hint of anything other than hot weather and clear skies all the way to next Monday, nothing less than 500 vs 500 will do.

In other words, watch the tennis instead.
