Netherlands should bat and get to around 300 and then declare, giving their bowlers a chance to roll Bermuda twice.

Bermuda are poor. Really very poor. At least the new World Cricket League should remove events like this when a few freak performances get teams into the World Cup, where they are nothing like the team of two years ago.

I reckon there actually are no one better. Possibly UAE on a good day.

Can someone please explain to me the format of the World Cricket League. Also Nambia, Nepal, Denmark (at full strength) and UAE are all better then Bermuda. The fact they get thrashed by Associate sides say it all, the above mentioned teams would atleast be competitive. Also those teams, apart from maybe UAE produce some half decent youth players.

Bermuda do have a about four or five good players, but they really no youngsters coming through. Their no really going to improve at all playing FC cricket, as most of their players are past it.

Netherlands will be disappointed that they let a couple of tail enders score half centuries but David Hemp is all class, what a marvellous innings. Ryan ten Doeschate deserves a mention aswell, hundreds in both innings aswell as 3 wickets opening the bowling. It seems as if the whole weight of the Netherlands is on him.

About 10 times as many runs as he's made in his six previous outings for Bermuda...

Dutch bowling is even beyond England's, it's that poor.

And the weight of the Netherlands is on this guy:

:p

Today sees the last match in the group, Canada vs. The Netherlands at Pretoria.

Some fine bowling by the Dutch, including a hat-trick from SLA Mohammad Kashif and 3-in-4 from that man Ten Doeschate has Canada reeling at 88/9. Ten Doeschate currently 5/19 and Kashif 4/25.

Of course the result doesn't matter, with Canada already assured of the group win.

 And at county level, his performances are roughly level to those of Rikki Clarke...
Rikki Clarke is better, isn't he? Clarke is actually a pretty good county player, even if he's not really international class.

True, but there's not that much in it. Both have bowling averages above 40. Clarke bats a bit better tho. ten Doeschate's FC stats look better because of 690 runs @ 172.50 and 14 wickets @ 20.71 for the Netherlands.

What's with the dissing the Dutch, Hakki? Be glad there's associates out there performing like this.

If RTD is equal to Rikki Clarke, it means he's close to good enough for the England ODI team ;)

Ten Doeschate to make a century against either Aus or SA in next year's world cup. And take 4 wickets, thus emulating his great predecessor Feiko Kloppenburg in WC2003

Fixed your typo. ;)

I'm just worried about the general level of the teams, that's all. (Though I suppose Canada have themselves to thank after bowling Bhatti for 10 overs. Yes, he's more erratic than Harmy on speed, but he's the only one who has pace to get good batsmen out.)

Point taken. Though of course we're just mimicking our big brothers from the left side of the North Sea.

Anyway, we won the '88 Football EC with players from Suriname and Wimbledon with a Czech. And as the crowd chanted when I went to see SA vs. Eng in Durban last year: "If it wasn't for the English we'd be Dutch, if it wasn't for the English we'd be Dutch...".

So, no problem there then.

lead by 306 runs, with 2 1/2 days to go...should be a walk in the park from here.
