Highly likely to be D-L shafted to some degree here.

Absolutely baffling that England don't pick Finn in the one format he's good in, similarly with Bresnan...

And it's not England - it's ****house Gardens in the land of the ovine botherers.
can only hope so

Looking forward to topping the group after this is rained off, so that when the semifinal v South Africa is also rained off* we qualify for the final having completed one match :happy:

Unfortunately can't win the final based purely on rain, but would accept a shared trophy for our worthy efforts.

* another South African choke

This'll teach us to stage a potentially crucial clash like today in Wales!!!!!!!!!!How annoying!! Was really looking forward to today's game and doesn't look like we're going to get much!!!Even made all my excuses to the wife early doors to ensure I could sit unhassled in my armchair!!!!

Always wondered actually, and with this game in Cardiff it reminds me. I know the ECB is the England and Wales Cricket Board but with the general lack of Welsh players regularly in the England national team, do people in Wales consider the England team to be their cricket team? With the rivalry in rugby union, interested in the general thought and how it even became the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Not too sure how it became the England and Wales cricket board, but I do know there are plenty of Welsh cricket fans that follow England around the world. They are always very quick to remind you that it is E&WCB and are rightly proud of their Welsh side of it. They were none too pleased and very vocal when the Barmy Army changed its logo (my Avatar) from a Union Jack background to the cross of St George........can't say I blame them either.

Any Welsh cricket fans on here??

I'm trying to hard to think of anywhere less suitable to stage international cricket than Cardiff. I've not thought of anywhere yet.

Maybe in the middle of a down-trodden Glasgow housing estate?

No wait, would get better weather and they would display far less antipathy towards cricket.

This might have already been mentioned, assuming this is a washout SURELY if Australia get into a position tomorrow night where they can win but will not make it through to the next round they should throw it away. Yes, 'Spirit of the game, 'The Australian way' etc is all very nice, but there is absolutely no benefit to getting a meaningless ODI win which allows England to get through and build momentum leading into The Ashes.

Fair dinkum, if we win this game but not by enough to make it through I will be highly disappointed.

Speaking of which, can any maths peeps work out how much Australia would have to win by to make it through to the next round, assuming tonight game is a washout?

A ****load.

To put it into perspective, if we make 320 batting first we'd have to keep SL to less than 250. If SL scored 250 batting first we'd have to chase it in 36 overs.
