Very good from stokes. I've been asleep for most of his spells in the series so far but he's looked the business in his brief spell this far.

I know speed isn't everything but fmd Stokes can get that pace up when he wants to. 140+ as a batting allrounder is fairly good, and considering his ability to move it in the air, very good platform to build on.

nah forget the 100, if he's going to make it, it' a bowling all-rounder, that's where is talent is IMHO.

Yeah? Interesting. Am I correct in reading that the wraps on him from his domestic career was that he's a batting allrounder?

Have you based that one what you've seen here so far, i.e. looks limited with the bat (ton in WACA notwithstanding obv) but has potential with the ball?

Certainly was early on, didn't actually even bowl much due to injury, but in the last couple of seasons he's performed much more as a bowler than a batsman.

Intriguing.

Generally like what I've seen from Stokes. In no way am I saying he's the future of English cricket etc. But I think he's showed a bit. Generally that's not good enough but on a tour like the English are having, you gotta take what you can get.

Here we go again. Decent opening partnership showing all the "intent" we desperately needed, a wicket falls and we crawl along going nowhere falling one by one to a well below par score of 220 - 240.
So bloody frustrating when it's so easy to predict the eventual first innings score when England are one wicket down. Tbf to England though they did smash my maximum prediction by 15 runs.

Look it's a hard call, but he very much started as a batting all-rounder for Durham, but that's a weird place to be at, because the pitch favours the pace-bowlers so much. Yet he really hasn't batted well for the last couple of years, but he seems to have bowled pretty excellently, and yes potentially he has a lot with the ball, he's in no way the finished article, but he can bowl quick and reverse it.

I said ages ago Woakes would end up a batting all-rounder, and Stokes the other way round, when they were both considered the other way, don't see anything to change my mind.

6 wickets for the session. Hopefully a great Test match in the making. We are sure overdue for one in this series.

Stokes bowling noballs every ball here. Be infuriating if he gets a pole and it's overturned.
