*Official* Fourth Test at the MCG

Dissector

International Debutant
If they aren't already out, England will probably declare between lunch and tea tomorrow with a lead of around 500. Two and a half days should be plenty of time to bowl Australia out especially since they have a quality spinner. Declaring now would be pretty silly unless there was a strong chance of rain. Probably wouldn't make a difference but why give Australia the chance to set a possibly tricky target in the final innings?

Wouldn't it be awesome if this match somehow resulted in a draw...1-1 going into the final game at Sydney, at the best ground and best city in the country.

It would be but unless it rains for a few days or Australia bat like maniacs I don't see Sydney being a live test sadly :(

Is there any sign of the track easing out a bit? Virtually every Australian batsman will have to make a big contribution for them to have any chance of saving this one.. India put up 450+ in a 2nd innings recently and still lost by an innings.

Easing out a bit? It's already pretty damn good for batting. The MCG tends to get better as well. When Aus bat 2nd innings it should be about the closest to the best batting conditions, expecially seeing as though it's meant to be sunny.

For all the stick Johnson is getting, and rightly so, the desperate mediocrity of Hilfenhaus is going relatively unnoticed. In this series so far he's taken just two wickets at an average of 141.50 at an incredible strikerate of 333.

Fmd they should just be cramming Prior up. Give him no room. Hrs ******** to the body, but cuts brilliantly.

The match will probably pan out very similarly to the one in Centurion last week then. I can see Ponting and Clarke getting hundreds.
