*Official* Fourth Test at the MCG

That was quite a bad first shot.
Quite. Decent nut, but very tentative prod at it.

Vaguely amusing to see Hughes getting out trying to cut a ball that was never wide enough to play the shot to. Hate to keep on a chap's case, but such a ******** technique.

It's got to be said Bresnan has bowled really well, I know it's his sort of pitch etc, but still he has to go out there, in front of 90k people and deliver, he's bowled about 87-88mph all the way through his spell as well.

Took me 25 minutes to find a working stream and all I get to see is Smith play and miss and rain. :@

Thought he was the pick of them, along with Tremlett.

Don't want to tempt fate, because it's very early doors, but I think Bres has been good value for his inclusion. Got a wicket with a bit of a nothing ball, but has been much more economical than Finn was.

Has the virtue of being a bit better and a little quicker than he looks.

I thought he tried to drive...

As for the match situation...can't keep coming back from 3/4 for **** all. With Hussey gone we could get out for 120-150.

Only Hughes has really thrown his wicket away though. Ponting seems to like either edging to slips or down leg-side.

You'd have to think Broad would struggle to get back into the team on the back of the performances of the other bowlers since he's left. Some real depth for England with their fast bowling stocks.

What a morning of Test cricket, edge of the seat stuff all the way through. Wish I was there!
