Clarke looked utterly atrocious today. Fair to say that Smith has outbatted Ponting & Clarke today. Not bad for the supposed Weak Link in this batting line up. Clarke needs a rest.
Yep

Healy gets a lot of stick but I reckon his comments were spot on

"Bowling has been testing but nothin more than you'd expect from a good international attack. Batting has been very ordinary and this is simply a capitulation."

Should be a fascinating series and Australia have a decent chance especially since Murali is gone. If they bring in some new batsmen, it will be a great learning experience for them.
Trying to think the last time we went to SL. Seems a hell of a long time.

All I can say is well played Poms, massive credit. Our team is good, England are just much better, simple. Worse things have happened. Like the bastards who stole my bike yesterday, with a kids seat attached. Not a good couple of days!
Yeah, I agree with most of this. England simply far too good bar a blip in Perth. Gave us false hope for a micro-second, but a loss was all bar inevitable given the way things were going this series.

England just a better prepared team who largely bowled and batted better than us for a majority of the series.

Don't agree on us being a 'good' team though at the moment. We've been shown to be pretty mediocre this series. Once or twice a player or two have stood up with the bat, and we bowled alright as a team for a game too. It's been largely below par though. England have shown what preparation, confidence, and sticking to your plans with the bat and ball can do over the length of a series.

We've had a lot of players prove to be below par in this series. Whether it's due to a lack of application, England working them out and dominating them, or a mixture of both...I guess we'll find out in the next series.

2004. Kat's played there too. Although I think only one test thanks to Andrew Symonds somehow replacing him for the first two tests

Yeah spot on SoC. England have been good but I think mediocre is a bit too generous. 2 innings defeats in 4 tests at home doesn't happen unless you're playing rubbish against very good opposition.

Watching Ponting fade before our eyes is particularly depressing. The guy has been a rock in our side since before I can remember. He really looks like a spent force now.

Anyway well played England. The bowling in particular has been great. Even after several changes they look very well organized. Mark of a very good unit IMO.

Doesn't change the fact that Anderson is a **** who needs a smack on the chops tbh.

It's going to be very very sad when Ponting does give it up, because as said he is the last of the great champions of the past.

If I were Anderson I would take this as a compliment. If you're not a ****, then you're not trying.

Oh and I apologise to Tim, he may look like the guy who sold me a steak slice in Greggs the other week but he did a hell of a good job today.
