He was obviously asked to bowl there by Strauss, I'm not going to hold that against him. I disagree with the notion of any wickets being meaningless anyway. Sure enough the game looks beyond lost but the players shouldn't be thinking that and therefore they were still wickets which needed taking.

For mine, it was just a loose shot from a guy who came out with the intent of scoring quickly from the get-go.

If he's worried about his finger and it changes his shot selection, then he shouldn't be playing.
