I once tried shafting onions. Stung a bit and my twig and berries whiffed a bit for the next day or two.

I think its a no-brainer bringing on Swann here. I know its early on and the ball is doing something, but for these two and Khawaja Swann is likely to trouble them and keep it tidy.
