He is likely to tour regardless of how he performs, but giving a batsman some confidence against Australia a few months before playing Australia in an away tour can only be a positive for a young guy.Yeah, but what if said batsman fails? Surely you can't not take them on tour after one match if you thought they were among the best 6 batsman in the country before that?
