Agar's technique looks decent given the situation and where he is batting. You can tell he would bat higher at domestic level. What's the bat brand Vic, didn't see it?

Lord's 05 in reverse. Australia bowl England out for nothing with very aggressive bowling, England's best bowler then runs through Australia for even less with nagging accuracy and movement, aided by the spinner.
Worth noting that Geraint Jones would have done better than some of the Aussie batsman today. In fact, his first innings in that match was pretty decent.

Given how that series went, it's a good sign. :p

Very similar side to Australia really; potent young bowling attack without the batting lineup to back it up. All hope of making a good score against a decent attack in decent bowling conditions lies with one bloke in the middle order.

Clarke's a league above Taylor and Starc's got a lot more potential than Wagner but there's no a lot to separate the sides at the moment other than that, and the gulf between Taylor and Clarke is arguably made up by McCullum and Williamson being worth a bit more than the rest of Australia's middle order anyway.
I think I like you again Pews ;)

Was thinking the same. The difference being that Aus were in a better postion at the closure of day 1, than England were 8 years ago. 7 down, iirc.

Before his random dropping I would have also added Australia having a test standard spinner in Lyon helps them, and Wagner is a low level early Johnson/Finn only in terms of we're all waiting for the lucky wickets to end and for him to actually have to build pressure for them.

A contrast between the teams is Australia have ten billion openers in their team and we have just one who has opened since his first days in pro whites.
