This RPM thing reminds me of Richard posting here years ago saying that every finger spinner put the same amount of revs on the ball because he'd video taped them all and watched them in slow motion and counted them. Good times.
First rev average.

i'm not sure if australia has faith in smith so much as they have even less faith in usman or warner
I think its Cowan now who is under the most pressure. Boof rates Khawaja so he could easily come in as soon as next Test if Cowan gets a pair, or a single figure score.

I hate when tests don't reach the weekends. Due to the Cape Town test in 2011 only lasting three days, I didn't see my first bit of live action of the last South Africa v Australia test series until the 6th day of the series. Was a series I was anticipating so much and I had to rely on highlights and recorded footage, without being able to post on CW at the same time etc, for most of it.
Yeah same here normally, but since I'm currently studying it means I don't mind so much and will actually get to watch more during the week.

yeah it took me two or three years to have a decent match in ic2010 and it came last month, i played as bermuda against australia in a t20 and chased 188 on the second last ball 9 wickets down. i'm a big advocate of the front foot drive off a bouncer actually
Good effort. Normally on hard, you can skittle the opposition out for cheap, and chase their total easily. Have to say though, I have had quite a few good matches, which have gone down to the last ball, seems to be when I'm not concentrating properly though. Oh yes, nothing like the bouncer which gets up to driveable ankle height. Tremendous physics, and shot recognition in that game. Also enjoyed the fact that in Ashes 2009 when it first came out, you couldn't leave the ball, otherwise your batsman would drop in confidence massively. Very realistic that, discouraging you from leaving the ball in a Test match!

Really liking the cut of Smith's jib. I may have to pencil him in on my favourite ashes players list.
