Not sure it's Strauss' job to give batsmen out to balls hitting middle and leg halfway up
Mate it's easy to give an lbw sitting back on the couch watching heaps of replays.

Strauss is a class act though so I think his wicket will be a key one in he second dig.

It's Strauss' job to make intelligent calls regarding when to challenge the umpires call. Well that and to make runs of course.
Like Punter did? I'm sorry but it's not up to the captain to make the umpire give such obvious decisions.

Anyway they look blummin well set now 8-)

This is getting into the territory of the great Ashes partnerships now, considering the circumstances when they got together.

Which is exactly why lbws should left to those sitting back on the couch watching heaps of replays.
**** off to England

In all seriousness though the rule is how it is and their is no proof that Strauss would have referred it anyway.

The decision was not that obvious, LBW decisions never are. You have had the benefit on multiple replay in slow-motion and hawk-eye to help you make up your mind. And I would have had no sympathy for Australia either because they misused the referral system as well.

He was out though. Or should've been. Referral debates are exactly why the system is poor - it shouldn't be Strauss's job to umpire. It's a much better system than not using the technology at all but it's still quite flawed.

And I'd quite love to **** off to England. Buy me a unit there pl0x.

Some glorious strokeplay from these two in the last 45 minutes. What a sight to wake up to.

Last year in our backyard, Strauss claimed a catch that bounced, the Aussies were denied a few plumb lbws, Hussey was "caught" at Lord's when he didn't hit it...it goes both ways. Huss should've been in the sheds though, totally agree.
