Norff = scored a 100 last dig.Pitch is good and bowling is persistent rather than massively threatening
No reason why an in form player shouldnt score runs under these conditions which makes it even more of a crime to pick Clarke and North
To say the least - Only 1 batsmen in the team that has averaged 50+ since1 Jan 2008.No way mate, their batsmen are way ahead of ours on form and confidence. We have big names that haven't been performing for a while, that's about it. In terms of batting, we're easily 5th in the world right now.
etc. etc. etc.
Chennai alone has probably produced more exciting matches than Ashes "contests" of the last two decades, bearing in mind England have been competitive in all of two series in that timeframe.
Atleast it is a contest between top of the table teams
Jealous Sri Lanka and India pass a trophy no one cares about around and insist on contesting it every other bloody month of the year.
Fixed.
Jealous Sri Lanka and India pass a trophy I don't care about (but around a billion others do) around and insist on contesting it every other bloody month of the year.
North has failed in 8/9 past test innings - no form whatsoeverNorff = scored a 100 last dig.
Clarke = lack of fitness, but was apparently ruled fit.
You may have a point, but I can see why the Aussies picked them. Worse then they picked Siddle and Hussey, but they've done good so far.
I wouldn't call Sri Lanka without Murali a "top of the table" team. Also prior to this English summer New Zealand were No. 2 in ODIs, The table can be misleading.Atleast it is a contest between top of the table teams
