Anderson's way down on what he's capable of pace-wise. Realise he can't go flat out all day, but we need a big effort here to force the breakthrough. Operating at Hoggard pace here, as he is now.
He seems to drop his pace, when he's trying to find some swing.

This weather looks fab. Hope the rain stays away for the most bit, this is what an Australian summer of cricket should be about.

Weather is fab in Adelaide as well after a few rainy days, too.

right we need an hour of tight bowling, stop trying to get lbw every ball. 2 wickets before lunch could get us back into the game

State Vice-Captain
It's only nice to let the hosts think that they're on top. Don't wanna be slaughtering them from the get go like. I mean come on, that's just poor manners from a touring side.

Very unique style of opening partnership, it must be very hard for bowlers to settle. Katich is so unorthodox and moves across the crease so much, whilst Watson is almost dead still at delivery. Add the right/left mix too, it's a great combination.

Anderson barely hitting 80mph with no swing hmmm

Reckon Finn's length isn't too bad at the moment. Just needs to keep pushing Watson back for longer periods, he's sitting waiting for that ball to whack down the ground and is getting further forward than the English batsmen. Keep pushing him back, back, back and then the full ball has to be splice height.

Is the broken rib still affecting Jimmy? What were his speeds during the warm up matches? Just seems so strange that he is consistently 5 mph or so down on his usual average.

Maybe the speed gun is off?

All day yesterday was the same,Johnson was at 85mph ,Hilfenhaus was 82-83, the gun seems to be about 5mph down I reckon.
