Should be noted that there will probably also be showers about tomorrow eveing which could also cause some no play, whilst thats uncertain its something to keep note of, thankfully those are hit and miss so if we are lucky Cardiff will avoid them so we can get a good days cricket.

I had just finished telling my father that the commentators were stupid for saying that Johnson needed swing to take a wicket when lo and behold the very next ball he got the LBW.

Great day of cricket for Aus. Really bad for England though the rain might save.

Next test England should drop Panesar and Broad for Harmison and Onions.

Talking of 4 100s in an innings, I think it was 1993 when Australia's top three all got hundreds (at Lord's???), and then Mark Waugh got out on 99, and there was a bloke somewhere who had put like £1 on the top four to get centuries, at like thousands to one. Can't remember the exact story, but it was something like that.

EDIT: MA Taylor 111, MJ Slater 152, DC Boon 164*, ME Waugh 99
Haha, Mark Waugh opening the bowling in both innings.

Liking Marto and Mo chatting. See the game differently to the usual blokes we see on Ch 9, who are in on the blokey inside heirarchy.

Were the England bowlers really congratulating each other for having hundreds scored against them? Thought MacGill and co. were just manufacturing the connection (between the footage of the England bowlers laughing and shaking hands and the bowlers' 'centuries') but the score shown over the footage was 595/5, which was the score at the end of the over when Anderson's runs conceded passed 100.

Yeah they were. Atherton and Lloyd briefly commented on it - sounded slightly unimpressed but didn't tee off the way Mo did.

Reckon Strauss is a **** captain. The fish rots from the head.

Ponting on the other hand has been an A+ so far this game for mine.

80.4 Anderson to Ponting, FOUR, good god. That's a shot of absurd class and authority. Cover-driven with textbook elegance. If you catch the highlights this evening, you'll know what I mean. Beautiful
Not actually in the highlights packages on SBS online or Foxsports

Anyone?

Yeah, personally didn't have a problem with it though. Was in good humour and good to see their spirits up despite the shelacking.

Yeah the umpiring has been horrible in this game.. I know it's a broken record, and it's a thankless and difficult job, but it's been kind of something along the lines of "lets not give out things that are plumb, and lets give stuff out that is dubious"

His team has been remarkably poor. When his team doesn't exhibit pitiful behaviour, I do actually find him to be adequate - better than Flintoff, anyway.

My overall thoughts:

Fantastic batting performance from Australia. Haddin was just spectacular and North was as disciplined as he was against South Africa. Only difference was, England couldn't dismiss him.

England, conversely, were rather pitiful. First there were the ironic handshakes. I didn't know whether to cry or laugh at that spectacle. I'd be pretty bemused if any of Hilfenhaus, Johnson, Siddle, Clark or Lee ever did that. Their body language was also pretty poor, as if they were waiting meekly for Australia to just hurry up and batter them already.

I hope that it doesn't rain too much. England don't really deserve to head into Lords on level footing with Australia.

Don't think England will have too much trouble playing out for the draw. Don't get me wrong, have alot of confidence in Johnson and Siddle, but on this pitch there's not a lot of hope.
I'm sure we'll find a way to **** it all up and lose 8 wickets.
