I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Been out of touch with Australian Domestic for a while now; what's got D00lan in the squad? I see he had a great 12/13 season but has had fairly average returns otherwise. In form go-to player for 3? What's happening with Voges, Cowan, Hughes & Ferguson?

Doolan has his fans because he has a pretty good technique, as well as recent form.
Ferguson's just never consistently scored big runs at Shield level. I guess some of the elites don't rate Hughes or Cowan. Voges I can't say, probably pigeoned holed as a OD specialist.

Really not keen on them playing Borthwick, I know he would play primarily as a batsman but we really don't want another Kerrigan. Monty can play this one.
I understand the temptation to sack the lot but don't think this is a good situation for anyone to come into the side.

I am sick of England picking bowlers based on their ability with the ****ing bat.
Pisses me right off.
Bresnan, Stokes, Borthwick lets just go back to the 90s.
Bowlers bowl, batsmen bat. Space for one all rounder in the team MAX.

Nah mate, the days of having 3 bunnies at the end of the line up are long gone. In a lot of respects it is Australias tail end efforts that have done for us this series........and certainly when England were going well getting through Bresnan, Broad, Swann and Anderson was a ****ing battle for bowling attacks.

To be fair to England, they've had more success picking bowlers who can bat than batsmen who can bat this series.

Time for a rant...I'm a great fan of Watson's potential, and so dissapointed he's never reached it in Test cricket, but this is rediculous...he's averaging 41.85 in this series, averaging over 70 in last 2 tests and Lehman makes a statement something like...Watto must be dissapointed with his #3 returns and as an allrounder must bowl in Sydney.... Doolan is added for cover for Watson, when Watson says on tv, I'm fine, no injury....all the while Bailey still sitting pretty at # 6 with a test average of only 27...as Ian Chappell, said, Bailey will never be a Test player
