Nah, Siddle over Broad, got his wickets a lot cheaper and was a lot better at keeping the runs down.

Broad ave 27.5 eco 3.6
Siddle ave 24 econ 2.46

If you put it in average order rather than runs, the list is interesting. 8 Aussies make the top 10. Bell and ... Chris Woakes.

I'd bet Broad's stats would be better if he played in Siddle's place in the Aussie team. Also got to factor in that four times out of five the Australian bats had enormous licence in the second innings. Yes, it meant a couple of gimmes were picked up but it's a completely different game.

I can understand picking Siddle over Broad but for me the latter has been the better bowler.

Siddle was a far better bowler than Broad, he kept a better line and length.

Why did Cook state in his interview that there was no reason to worry about the senior batsman before the trip, then a minute later he tells us that England haven't got enough runs in the past year? Such scrambled thought-processing going on with England atm.

Pietesen only averages 37 from 30 innings under Cook, something is wrong or Pietersen is in decline.

There's got to be dramas in the dressing room. Blokes retiring mid series when the team is down, senior players being so petulant on the field, selections all over the place and he team just rolling over.

It's like an Australian tour of India. Or an Indian tour of anywhere.
