I’ve just realised Bruno Fernandes is a Portuguese Gerrard regen. By far our best, most talented, hardest working, most committed player, but tactically chaotic. Great long passer, scores absolute screamers all the time, turns it on in big games. Will never win the league.

Can’t wait to share this epiphany on Liverpool fan forums and see what they think.
Just need him to develop a penchant for attacking people in nightclubs for true authenticity.

Rashford putting on a masterclass tonight on how to achieve absolutely **** all from countless promising positions.
I am absolutely flabbergasted that the guy was picked if I'm being honest. I don't see how a few good games after perhaps the best part of 18 months being mediocre at best gets him back in the England team. Incidentally, I have been on a bit of a do in Tenerife for a few days, only returning yesterday evening so I missed last night's match. I did however see a regional league game on Sunday between CD Marino v Los Llanos, i.e. semi pro. The home team were pretty decent and as you might expect from a Spanish side, they had some good technical players and won very comfortably 4-0. There was a surprisingly good bar with decent food. Much better than what you get at English professional football.

It wasn't exactly a match you could loo too deeply into because Latvia were on damage limitation from kick off, but the one area of space England were finding was with Rashford down the left, there was just no end product at any point. Towards the end England broke clear and there was an obvious ball to put Foden through but he didn't spot it. The best wingers turned out to be Eze and Rogers (who only moved to the wing after Bowen went off - I know you're a Hammer, but I just don't get what Bowen brings to International Football).

I can kind of get why Tuchel would try Rashford, there was a high quality player there once, and he was without Saka/Gordon, but it's just not there now.

Well, I would be picking both Saka and Gordon as first choice wingers if they were fit. Quite how Foden plays on the right with England when he plays centrally at club level, I don't know and England clearly need more productivity from the centre of the park. Bowen has not had a very good season, that said it doesn't help that he's essentially trying to play club football as a central striker, which he isn't. He does probably offer more of a goal threat than some of the other wide men, but would be as a bench player as others offer more in terms of technique and better passing than what he has, he's more of a direct runner and good at getting in behind from wide area.

Foden came on and played at 10 and immediately found space that no one else had managed. It's clearly his most natural position, problem is we have 3 players who ideally want to play there (Palmer/Bellingham).

Just some feedback... the bait is too obvious.

A better comparison would be someone like Maddison. They are very similar across many data points but most noticeably passing stats.
