Also worth pointing out that the ref (French lady) gave a penalty at the end of the Bayern/Copenhagen game to Bayern. The ball bounced up, hit a the defender's arm (which was sticking out) just before hitting his side. VAR told her to have a look and of course she changed her mind. It was far more of a penalty than the PSG one and to be honest thought it should be given. There is just zero consistency.

This also didn't help Utd.

Just proves that VAR - or the use of it - is a waste of time for decisions like this.
It should be clear and obvious error. Neither of these decisions were that, they were just a little subjective to the VAR representative. Where is the 'umpire's call' equivalent?

If anyone isn't aware of what's happening to Botafogo this season I'd suggest you look it up. It makes every other bottle job in the sport's history seem tame.

Onana is the funniest thing of the season. Love how bad he is and that he cost so much.
Not that I've watched him much, I don't have TNT, and don't watch much on the box but is Onana one of these blokes who's meant to be good with his feet? I just can't help smile when certain clubs have gone for keepers for their ability with their feet but overlook key handling/actual keeping skills. It's almost like having the wicket-keeper who bats......

someone on reddit did a summary and it was awful. that right there is a true bottle job in the truest sense of the word and makes previous contenders like Neverkusen, the north london clubs and dortmund look like chumps in comparison

he was good for Inter last season and an important part to the way they played besides doing a good job at the stop shopping thing

writing him off as a crap keeper after these few months in a club with ownership issues, an injury crisis and a manager under fire is very premature tbf

It was also a low-block Inter defence that played a back 5 with three elite CB's. He's always had the bozo gene in him despite the acrobatic saves and highlight reel moments, that dates back to his time at Ajax. There were fewer opportunities to get exposed in what was a rock solid Inter side. It's telling that they haven't missed a beat since replacing him.

It actually reminds me a lot of Mendy at Chelsea and the praise he was getting under Tuchel when they went on that insane defensive run and won the UCL. Sure he had some great saves along the way but there were plenty pundits comparing him to the best GK's when in reality he was being protected by Rudiger, Silva and Christensen. It all fell apart as soon as those defenders moved on and Chelsea started conceding more chances. Although to be fair to Mendy he was actually far more consistent in that period with his glovework than Onana has ever been.

I don't think its at all premature to write him off, he's been on the scene for 7 years now and still can't demonstrate the fundamentals. My hope is that United continue to give him time and are forced to hold him long term.

Dortmund need a point to guarantee top spot, a defeat would leave them second and a much harder draw in the last 16. There's plenty of incentive for them to play a full strength team.
It certainly won't be a fully rotated side or anything but I'd expect they do rest some players. Might depend how their league game against Leipzig goes the preceding weekend and if they can get the key players rested early.

Of course there's a risk they get rolled (PSG could do that even if Dortmund are 100% full strength) but at home they'll back themselves to keep it tight and get out with a point.

Yeah he’s been alright in the league, made some very good saves but got away with a few big mistakes. In Europe he’s been a complete disaster. Looks terrible technically too, no idea at all what he’s doing on the second goal.
looked like he wasn’t ready for it to come all the way to him. On replay Martial is there for the header and decides not to bother hitting it to the surprise of Onana.

So after watching a couple of games today I can safely say of the 4 sides I saw that Newcastle were the best and Man Utd clearly the worst. Everton played well to beat a pretty poor Forest side but Man U tonight were diabolical, no effort at all.

As for the FA Cup a comedy hat trick by Ryan Bowman got my lot through to round 3 for the 7th year in a row.

Hey I know they have to share the matches around, and massive hindsight, but West Ham-Palace not a great choice for Super Sunday TBH.
